So, second question. Come boost me? :P Got a Monk stuck in Inferno Act 2 :(

I am levelling a DH now, shes at 40.

It's not really boosting if I'm dragging you through act 2. Act 3 and 4 are worse, if you can't do 2 then you need to gear up more unfortunately, otherwise you'd be relying on someone carrying you through all the acts.

My monk can handle act 2, but it cost millions of gold. DH is just an easier class.

Go for dmg over hp, i'm running around inferno on my wiz with 13k HP. :P

Just got to the part in act2 where you face a bunch of those snake guys in the palace, impossible I tell you. Theres about 20 of them and no where to run.

Depends on your build / damage. With high enough damage it's not a problem because anything you use insta kills them all. But early on in my gear, when I had maybe 30-40k damage, I found the second half of Act 2 + Belial inferno had me altering my usual farming build to deal specifically with stealth naga. Which sucked for stacking the shiney buff, but it made it feel a hell of a lot better.

1. Exploits and bugs
2. Played in a group so they traded
3. Played 16-20hrs a day.

After the patches now that most exploits are gone id say its nearly impossible to finish inferno as a solo player without using AH. Not without farming 16hrs a day for half year.

they used abilities that have now been nerfed. Go on, knock yourself out, try to finish inferno without using the AH..

I will thanks. I admit I used the AH at the start of nightmare on my DH, since this was my first character and I was really struggling for a decent bow. Haven't used it since then on that character, simply because I chose not to after that, the bow essentially made NM trivial. (I did use the AH to get some +exp gear for my wizard, and that made levelling much more trivial.)

I parked my DH for a while at act2 hell I think, whilst I leveled a wizard. Or tried to while the servers died. I picked up my DH again (after the nerfs) and am currently near the end of act2 Inferno, all done solo, only 1 item purchased from the AH in an earlier difficulty, and it's all going pretty well thanks.

I'm sure it would be easier if I bought something, but I don't particularly want easier, I'd just play NM for that. I guess I'm just of the mindset that as long as what I have is *good enough* I don't need to cry and moan that other people had it easier, or classes need a nerf, or the grass is greener over there. Of course if the difficulty makes people lose desire to play then you should use the AH to prolongue your experience. For me this is the other way around.

In a loot based game, I desire loot. But I want my loot, not someone elses. Each to their own of course, but Inferno is not impossible, and I will finish it solo :)

It was an amulet with 14%IAS, 41% Crit Damage, 22% MF and a socket. I bought it some time ago, used it for a while and sold on when I upgraded :)

Lol, nice investment, no other stats on it?

Pray tell, how many times have you been 1 shotted by everything in act 2? How many champ/elite packs have you had to lure out of the way and run past? Or areas reloaded because a champ was making it impossible to pass through? How many times have you been 1 shotted by the serpents after they appeared next to you even if you vaulted away the moment you saw it?

DH gets the best of it. He can deal lots of damage while running off because his skills deal burst damage (ie Elemental Arrow) or require no time to use (ie Caltrops). You can easily progress bit by bit on a DH.

I finally unlocked Inferno last night on my DH, i had been playing a Wiz previously, got him to halfway through Act2 on Nightmare and kinda got disheartened, so tried DH and found it was incredibly easy to get to grips with and kinda just stuck with it, also my bro swapped from WD at this point to Barb so we often duo'd a lot.

So i dinged 60 last night and unlocked Inferno, i tried it a bit solo, i have some friends playing and some of them gave me some gear (912dps bow which is actually less dps than my 656dps bow for some reason, prob due to crit rating?) im currently sitting at 41k hp and 52k dps with the Crit passive on max, i tried the act1 a little and didnt have any issues with normal mobs, found one pack with a rare and got schooled a bit as it was inside a small cellar and no where to kite.

Ive found since dinging 59, Elemental Arrow + Nether Tentacles is extremely powerful, but im wondering what people are using? I think for solo play im going to try my old original build of using the old Cull the Weak build with everything centered around slows, Bolo Shot with the slow rune, caltrops and the slow rune etc, how viable is slow in Inferno? i read a lot of comments that a lot of the mobs are just flat out immune to slow?

Anyone care to post a decent DH setup for Inferno Act1 soloing?

Cheers all

shame really - where's the longevity if you can buy all the gear you need? is it also true that they manipulate the drop rates? or is that conspiracy time?

What do you mean when you say manipulate drop rates? I hadn't heard anything about this and would guess anything pointing to manipulation is probably just a case of "random is random". The problem is that each item can have ~15-20 different stats, however for each class there are about 4 of these which are the best stats, and each time a stat is rolled it can fall anywhere in a range (for example 10-100)... so for the random generator to give you an item with the 4 stats you want all falling high in their range is minuscule.

Why did Blizzard stop at Inferno? Why not just make the game exponentially more difficult forever? Couldn't they just ramp the difficulty 20% for every playthrough and as long as the loot quality went up by a similar markup people would presumably still be able to achieve it eventually.

Call me cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if once the income from the RMAH starts decreasing they add another difficulty level, add another level of better loot and collect people's money again.

are you crazy ?! first they will just add a bit more loot. Then they will wack in subscription charges to post more than 10 items on AH. Then a one off payment for an extra bag slot, then a store where you can buy a mount for 10euros. Then THEN an extra level just to kill some time. Then about halfway through 2013 they will prob release an expansion pack with 2 more acts and a new class a DANCE STUDIO. Then another one off cost to customise your char so you can have different hair different colour skin etc.... rinse repeat :p

No damage buff when you play with friends is great.

I couldnt play duo with my barbarian friend because he'd go from fine solo to getting gibbed by white mobs.

Nope, they'll be adding an expansion.

New classes and a higher level? God knows how they'll balance the equipment.

Yeah, he really is quite easy :p

As a Barb I just about out tank anything he throws at me xD Only thing that is a risk is the fire, and simply ignore pain that xD

kd

Don't know if that's just a luck or something but yesterday (did not tried Today) on butcher if we stood all in one place at the bottom (1st corner on the right from entering the door) the fire could flood the place and did not hit us. (hugging the edgewall) Problem is that you have to take his hits in your face which if unlucky and selected again from your group could be deadly (when any life saver on CD)
