Does anybody use actual gold anymore? If so, why? Why would somebody list something of value for gold if they could earn actual money for it? Or is gold now purely for lower value items that wouldn't fetch actual cash?

Not sure what blizz are doing to this game :(
Seems like they nerfed everything that is farm-able then put repair costs up
Repair costs have been increased for item levels between 53 and 63
Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses
Should have just farmed gold and items, then could sit on them for a few weeks while the prices go up

I'm confused with how magic find works now.

If there is a flat out percentage chance of getting a certain drop of a given ilvl, what exactly do I need MF for?

Self explanatory? Magic find increases that percentage chance. So if you have 100% magic find and the chance of, say, an ilvl 61 item was initially 8% then I assume (unless there are hidden modifiers) that your new percentage chance of an ilvl 61 item will be 16%.

Gold is in high demand now due to the incredibly outrageous bad repair costs, so i expect to see even more over inflated prices on Gold AH as people try to bank a ton to feed their hunt for the elusive items that will sell well on the RMAH!

Blizz has pulled off a masterstroke, they dangled the RMAH carrot making people farm for presitge items to flog off for tons of cash in the meantime increased the costs of repairs by such a ludicrous amount that you are also forced to flog stuff on the gold AH to support the habit of farming for the RMAH lol, its win win for them!

Actually thinking about it, its pretty shrewd, your now faced with the dilemma when a really good item drops "Do i sell it on RMAH for a bit of cash or lob it on Gold AH and hike its price up to fund aload more runs in the hope more similar stuff drops so i can flog some for cash!"

As opposed to just lobbing everything on RMAH since it went live in the hopes of garnering some cash from it, i reckon the RMAH will be the sole place of really decent gear soon, the bits of rubbish that people are trying to flog will end up on Gold AH to support repair bills lol

Don't forget they nerfed trash mobs damage slightly (bout 33% on Act II it seems). Of course they just makes the gap between the trash and the elites/champs even bigger. While they got there damage reduced too, they still have much higher damage than regular enemies and the abilities can make them impossible, so now unless you have a skill available to skip these mobs they will give you a gigantic repair bill.

Ok, the difficulty change seems interesting...

Elites don't seem to have been changed that much, but the standard stuff is now dead easy... (Inferno)

Pretty much my experience with it. They haven't made it smoother at all. Regular enemies are easier but they were never the real challenge (bar certain stupid enemies like Soul Lashers). It just means when you come up against elites you get your ass handed to you even harder. You still need just as much gear to survive them.

So my sword is currently 800DPS. If I got a wepaon that was say 1k DPS, would this boost my overall DPS by 200 or is it more?

I have no idea how it works.

Cheers

That is very smart indeed, they must be raking it in.
