What film did you watch last night?

Wow, I always thought The Orphanage was Del Toro, I swear his name was attached to it somehow though?

I thought exactly the same but it turns out that he was the executive producer. Could do with re-watching The Orphanage at some point as both times I've attepmted to watch it I've fallen asleep (not through boredom).

Prometheus. It was middling. It's Alien, but with none of the subtlety or art. The plot is pointlessly similar. Ok, the aliens look a bit different, but it's basically the same thing. Even then, the aliens weren't nearly as scary, which probably comes down to the lack of subtlety. That and it was chock full of metaphysical "Ooh, but we must know where we came from" stuff which just slowed everything down.

It's hard to say it wasn't good when it's pretty much the same film, but... It wasn't great.

Last night I watched the bourne identity (blu ray) good film been a while since I watched any of them, decided with the new one on its way out may as well re-watch the old ones

Just back from belfast, watched Jaws in odeon, enjoyed watching a film of this calibre on the big screen, wasnt alive 1st time round XD

Senna. It was good, though there is something fairly unpleasant about watching a film that you know is going to end with real footage of a real person dying.

Agreed, I dont follow the F1 but decided to watch Senna a wee while ago, good documentary, such as shame though :(

watched a documentary myself last night, cant remember the name but it was on Joe louis, I dont know much about him, apart that he's hailed by the older boxing community, not watched any of his fights so decided to see what all the fuss was about lol

Kill The Irishman

Just watched it for the second time. It's a good film, almost Scorsese like directing.

Definitely worth a watch if you like films like Goodfellas (one of my all time favourites). Also it's based on a true story which is good thing.

8/10

Starngers on a Train - Classic Hitchcock, well made thriller about a pair who meet on a train and joke about each other killing the other's problem relative. One was not joking and goes on to make the other's life uncomfortable. Very enjoyable watch. 4/5

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 2/5

More tedious pirate shenanigans with Johnny Depp and friends. At least Dead Man's Chest and At World's End, did have some fun moments, which is more than can be said for this. I expect there will be a fifth film. *sigh*
