I deal with lost/damaged items for Yodel. The vast majority of my time is spent looking for something that someone has put the wrong address on. You would be surprised how many people don't know their own postcode. I am basically the St. Anthony of Logistics
Would much rather work in software development, have done since I was a kid. But with no degree (dropped out, was very ill), and no experience that's not going to happen any time soon.
Interesting read, a lot of clever people in here, I'm too ashamed to say mine , fairly menial job though, not really capable of much more than that tbh.
Do you have a PhD in philology or somesuch? Just asking because it seems quite an interesting job! I'm from the literature side of academia myself (alas I lack formal education in classical languages...) but linguistics and philology is definitely an active interest.
