*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

throw your oen x in the bin then and go back to a iphone:D

See, that right there makes you look a bit silly. Well, more silly than you had managed before.

Why, pray tell, must I either like iOS, or like Android? Can I not like both for different reasons like a normal, well balanced human being?

You know, instead of a bit of a moron.

Your the one saying android is slow and sluggish compared to iphoen so dump teh android device and go iphone.

A normal human being would stop whining over something they have and get rid of it in the next possible opportunity that arises.

Hold on, I thought you were the one that knew?

Well you say you have a One X, the tablet isn't due to ship till mid July and the Galaxy Nexus is the only device in the UK that can currently get Jelly Bean running on it. I made a reasonable assumption that your now trying to get around by being smarmy.

How about just answering the question?

he sais he has a one x thats more sluggish then a iphone lol :D

Well the home screen transitions on the One X for example aren't perfectly smooth, where on the 4S they generally are.

With a custom launcher and so forth, they are smooth, but the Sense launcher isn't great.

It's hardly a big secret that many people find the One X a bit stuttery in places, where the 4S is generally free from such stutter.

The Galaxy S III would be a better example of powerful, smoother animations and performance.

Plus, he didn't actually specify that he was talking about the animations, he could have been referring to the 'refined' part of the post, which is understandable.

Hold on, I'm going to take a moment to decipher that and get back to you....

Right, let's take a look at this shall we?

I'm whining? When exactly did I whine? You offered an opinion, and I countered. So far we've had nothing but oddities from you since then. I ask you again, why can I not see the benefits of both platforms and like them for those benefits? Why must liking Android for, say, it's customisability mean that I cannot appreciate the way iOS handles itself? When did smartphones become a religious argument?

Why would I want rid of the One X? Why would I want rid of the iPhone, either? It's the same argument for having a PS3 and a 360. A pushbike and a car. I recognise their individual strengths and appreciate them accordingly.

Are we beginning to understand yet?

Ohhhh, so you're saying that the un-released hardware and un-released software is up to iOS-levels? It may well be, I hope so. But that's not what the bloke was on about, is it?

Smarmy? Me?

Anyway.....

I've got my wallpaper sorted

I thought it was fairly common knowledge that iOS is smoother than Android

Don't get me wrong I love Android and I can't wait to try some buttery jelly bean :p but it's definitely an area that Apple has had the edge in.

It's not particularly the animations, but rather the perceived lag when tapping things. Flicking through lists, for example. It's apparently sorted in 4.1, and it is undoubtedly improved in 4.x compared to earlier releases.

I'm not really sure why anyone is finding this hard to follow. I don't see where I was being controversial.

Robbo, you seem to be a bit more with it than the average punter, why do people get so tetchy over this stuff?

EDIT: By the way, it's not like I'm an iPhone owner that simply thinks Apple owns all. Or an Android owner that wouldn't touch Apple with a barge pole. I just love new tech, simple.

Oh, controversial. You'll get nailed to the cross for that. Speaking sense? We'll have none of that in 'here sonny!

;) :p

Hang on Hang on.

You - "Android isnt as smooth as IOS which is why they are making such a big deal about 4.1"

Me - "How can you say it isnt as smooth without trying 4.1"

You - "Havnt I"

Me - "Havnt you?"

You - "Hold on I thought you knew I havnt tried it"

Me - "I made a reasonable assumption"

You - "Oh hang on let me go back on what i just said for the past 3 posts because your right I havnt tried it..."

Am I missing something?
