Yeah I wasn't paying attention and salvaged some terribad legendary 2H Mace without noticing it was lvl58 so got ****. Maybe have a quick look on the AH and undercut everything but yeah, merch it otherwise.

Well I sold my Exalted Grand Sovereign Greaves plan last night. Up for 16.5mil, took home a cool 14mil (and tripled my bank balance).

And you got some awesome shoulders for cheap that I found you, and some nice boots to boot :D

Yeah I know,I was talking about mats from legendaries.

I can't understand how crit works.I know that it provides some kind of dps boost, depends on crit % but does it give permanent dps increase?

If for example I now do 10k dps without any crit, getting a wep with crit and crit damage will boost my dps (the dps shown in my stats)? And if yes,how much?

I played a bit of Diablo 2 the other night. Mates started a Javazon and i'm a Paladin but unsure of what build i'm gonna go yet. The point of my post though is my mate found a wicked rare javelin in the Den of Evil (first quest) and then in the Stony Field (the 3rd area) i found a Cleglaw's Claw (set item) for my Paladin. Finds like this make you feel like you're progressing much more than D3 does and these sort of upgrades happen throughout the game. The balance of drops is just perfect. You still have to farm for end game PvP or MF builds but the feel of progression is there even if you completed the highest difficulty months ago.

It has made me realise how great the playability of Diablo 3 is though, it really is great compared to Diablo 2. Loot is 70% of the game though and they've made a huge mess of it to the extent the game is actually pretty rubbish. I'm not here to troll or annoy the people who are still enjoying the game - i want to enjoy it too but it's just not happening with the drop tables, let alone with the auctions houses.

That's all they do?No permanent dps increase?

The critical hit chance effectively is.

e.g.

- Attack A with 10% crit chance x 100 times
- Attack A with 20% crit chance x 100 times

Averaged out, the 20% crit chance will have done more damage, as it would have allegedly critted 20 times, instead of 10.

As for crit damage increase, you could have 10% crit chance but 200% crit damage increase, or 20% crit chance with 100% increase, which they'd of as an end result hit with the same damage averaged out.

DPS is worked out by combining everything that effects your damage. Its just an average amount of damage you can inflict per second. The amount of damage getting a weapon with extra Critical Damage will inflict is dependent entirely on your critical hit chance.

Take your weapon (for the sake of argument, a 2H Mighty Weapon with an attack rate of 1 second doing 750-1250. Thats 1000 dps you inflict and every 1 in 20 hits will do 1500 which gives you a total of 1025 dps. If you use Ruthless (Barb Passive for 5% crit 50% crit damage) you hit for 2000 damage on average every 10 hits so you'll do 1100 dps. If you raise that to my current stats of 35.5% crit rate and +216% crit damage then you hit for 3160 damage almost every 3 hits which gives you a pretty significant increase (I really cba to work it out).

Of course, its just chance so if you assume you attack for an infinite length of time thats what it should work out at but you can quite easily land 5 criticals in a row just like you could land 5 regular hits in a row. Basically, the higher your crit chance the more effect you'll see from increased critical damage and vice versa.

And I seem to be getting amazingly lucky with rare drops atm. Came through Keep Level 1 on Act 3 and I have 8 rares, 3 ilvl63, 4 ilvl62, 1 ilvl60.
All utter trash but its a start :D

Definitely seeing more high ilevel stuff in Act 3, shame its all been junk so far but the probabilities are higher that you will actually find something of use I guess.

After moving house and being offline for about 2 weeks. With all the balancing and tweaks to the game over that period of time, I've tried some new builds on my DH.

And I'm finding traps with frost arrow and hungering arrow works really well for me at the moment.

Lots of slows and kiting is working well on elite packs. :)

And hoping this new hot fix works well for drops that we can all use also...

So I've leveled up a Wizard to 60. Literally struggling with Act 1-2 Inferno still. I have 8-9million gold left.

Is it possible to be able to get good enough gear to play upto act 3 with that much?

Could the wizards of the thread give me an idea of their stats in Act 2? The timer on bad affixed elites is ruining me and I hate skipping packs.

Yes. A friend of mine just hit Act 1 inferno, geared him out for about 800k and he can now do Act 1. Act 2 gearing will cost more and you'll need all resist, but it should be perfectly do-able with 8 - 9 mil.

I just found this, worth much on the RMAH or GAH?
