*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

Not to get others hopes up, but the iFixit teardown has been done..

You might note in Step 2 of the instructions
Initially, the Nexus 7 was criticized for its lack of HDMI output. However, the included micro USB-to-HDMI cable solves that problem.
And it shows a micro-USB to HDMI cable..

Not sure if a mistake, trolling us or perhaps even genuine!

To save time...

I cant tell but would swear on the more blocky looking end it has HDMI on it!?

I'm pretty sure it's a mistake, the cable does say HDMI on one end, but the other doesn't even look like micro USB to me..

It's got people on XDA talking!

this may be a stupid question so I will say sorry now.....can you even do usb to HDMI?!

Paul from Modaco been doing a lot of testing of his one.

Peripheral Test #2. USB stick appearing as sda on Nexus 7 when connected, mounting will be possible when rooted to allow use for video etc.

Peripheral Test #3: No output from Nexus 7 via MHL adaptor. :-(

So some possibly great news and just a definite confirmation of the MHL question.

The USB stick mounting is a good sign! As long as that is possible, then i will be super happy with my 8gb version. :)
