Made the infernal staff of herding today and did a few 5 stack Whimsy runs. I find it easier to run there than act 3 or 4 on my Wiz due to the mob types but it takes so long to kill stuff with my measly 28k unbuffed dps.

Same have 16,000,000 gold now and nothing I can see that will help me really. Just want to be able to farm Act 3 inferno comfortably!

Yeah its annoying. Easiest way I've found to compare is to use that DH damage calculator (since I've no idea if anything exists for barb), create a weapon with my current weapons damage/attack speed, my crit chance (-5 base) and crit damage (-50% base), plug in my +str in place of dex and then calculate any changes made by the purchase. Very tedious though.

Who was it that crafted Flawless Star Emeralds for people (Brok?)? I've got 3 Star gems here that I could do with being combined if the fee is ok :p
 
Had enough of Diablo for now, easily the most frustrating game I've ever played.

over 25m gold spent and ACT3 still rapes me silly, just don't see the point in playing anymore, so I am considering just selling all my gear and leaving the game until such a time as blizzard actually make it fun to play.

my sentiment. I don't think it's a game meant to be fun to play in the usual way. At least not once you hit the higher difficulty. It's meant to frustrate and forces you to grind gear. I'm not having much fun now. I quite enjoyed it up to a point.

I have no issue with grinding, but its not fun grinding at all, unlike Diablo 2 which was, it's also not "hard" at later difficulties its just frustrating.

The only way I can see me getting ACT3 on farm is by spending 100's of millions of gold on items based on current prices, and there's no way on earth I could even contemplate getting that amount of gold in a reasonable time frame, certainly not before the likes of TL2 or GW2 are out anyway :)

I disagree without checking the AH. The 2H may be worth a little something, possibly not though as it depends how valuable its mods are. The crossbow has some pretty hefty critical with dex that will also make up for some dps. Hand Crossbow and the Wizard Hat are definitely worthless though.

I think the problem is the gigantic gap between regular mobs and elites. Regular enemies take full effects from control effects like Frost Nova or Ground Stomp and have x health and y damage. Then you have the elites with minions with many times more hp/damage and the elite itself with even more hp/damage, plus special effects. Or champions with between minion/elite level hp/damage but up to 4 of them.

Take a Colossal Golgor elite I came across earlier. The regular kind are already pretty deadly, doing anywhere from 5-10k or more with a hit and can be quite a fight for a melee class. I came across an elite with minions with maybe 5-10x the hp of the regular one who hit me for 30k! That was just a freaking minion! I don't know where the hell its damage came from but I was dead in 2 hits from 60k hp. I didn't even bother going back to try again.

Barbarian is the only 1 of my 3 lvl60s I enjoy playing atm. My DH is a glass cannon which I need to re-assess because after playing Barb I don't find it fun any more. My Wiz is a tank type who just can't mitigate enough damage for it to actually matter since she has no self-heals like a Barb/Monk. Barb can hold his own in most situations, has great mobility and has WotB to power his way through elite/champs because its simply the only way to defeat most combinations of affixes.
 
The AH just ****ed up big time for me. I'd bid £1.5m on a some chest armour. Decided to increase the bid to £2m before I went to bed. Accidentally typed £20m and it said the auction failed. I didn't get any money back and the item doesn't appear in my auction list. I still had £1m left so decided to bid that anyway and to make things worse it said I am no longer winning with the £1m bid as it seems to still be remembering my old bid that has now failed! So basically I just bid against my old bid that has vanished!

CONFUSION :p

Also, is there a system for contacting Blizzard about stuff like this, or just hard luck, move on?

Yep i can do those if you still need, Brokkah#2761. Dont want to steal business from the other guy posting though so go to him first if you can :)

Can also do flawless and perfect amethysts.
 
Does anyone have a half-decent source?

I've been using a basic magic one with 102-300dmg or something for ages and it seems impossible to find a decent one on the AH 'cause you can't search by damage.
 
On my 2nd play through and died twice already only just got that crown for the black smith haha.
I need to sort my load out so I don't keep getting butchered.
