I ended up looking at the first Hamilton and the Longines Hydroconquest. The Longines was very very nice but the Hamilton won...such an awesome watch, love it.
 
That first Hamilton is nice, probably my first choice.

Nice Seiko Sumo too! I have an orange monster that should have been delivered today but no sign of it, grrr!
 
Phate and I had fun watch shopping but after seeing the Hamilton on him in person it has to be the Hamilton, the Longines a VERY close second. Phate, buy both...

Yeah too much for a basher. I only paid half that, second hand. I had to polish and refinish the case so it looks like new. They come up occasionally for £250 or so, definitely worth looking out for one.

Ah, that's what I did. But then it started me looking at the MM600. And they're a lot of money :)

I'd think twice about a black plated watch n strap. Had a few and they always end up looking rough and you can't refinish them when they get tatty. That's a big watch mind, not a bad thing if you have the wrists. I have a Benarus Sea Devil, quite a lump. Have to be careful not to smack it into door frames as it's so tall.

Lol you must think I'm loaded! On our wages? Pffft :p

Hamilton is my choice, unless someone posts a suggestion to throw a spanner in the works.
