What watch do you wear?

Really like the look of the Christopher Ward C8 Pilot MkII. Probably black strap over brown as it'd go with a wider range of outfits and colours.

Currently priced at £365. Worth the money or not? I've seen plenty of reviews suggesting the quality is up there with some Tag Heuer, Omega, Breitling watches at a quarter of the price but not sure if they're simply wild claims or not far from the truth.

for £365 you wont find many better quality. And the CS is top notch too.

Wow, thanks for letting me know about these... seem to be Swiss made and many with ETA movement too!

What do you think about htis one, the C70 Monte Carlo (50 made worldwide), for £280? http://www.christopherward.co.uk/review/product/list/id/1222/category/428/ :)

EDIT - mhmmm looks a bit casual for me actually with the red etc...bit too funky.

Ok, i've now seen this one, the C5 Malvern Aviator MK II http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/view-all-mens/c5akk-mk2.html

Just my style for a daily watch... elegant and unassuming, and this one definitely has ETA Swiss movement ETA 2824-2/Sellita SW200-1.

£220... seems almost crazily cheap, and I LOVE the exhibition window at the back. Unless someone can suggest something better (but similarly elegantly styled) than this for similar money I think i'll order today. :)

EDIT -

Ack, to further complicate things i've just noticed the C3 Malvern Chronograph... and while it's cheaper and uses 13 Jewel Ronda 504 Quartz movement... it looks so much nicer! http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/dress/c3skk.html

Thoughts?

Thanks for those links, I like the idea of getting a piece from an independent jeweller.

edit

curse you, found a watch I love and I can't buy it, have to have been the member of some sort of group

Off to research a bit

Hey guys, does anyone have any good suggestions of where to buy new watch straps from?

My current brown leather one for my Citizen Eco is starting to look very worn. Ideally I'd like to have one that's a little more resistant to wear and tear this time.

not sure about uk sellers.

crownandbuckle if you dont mind importing. dstrap (holland) are apparently ok for something more custom made.

That Kemmner Marine 42mm is beautiful but damned difficult to find a seller. Out of interest what would be an appropriate price? I've find one for 380 euros.

Cheers, Paul.
Other than second hand, and they're quite sort after. There's only one seller (ebay > erkahund) and that's Kemmner himself.

Try http://schuhren.de/mechanical-collection/ for some similar made to order models, iirc they buy their cases from Kemmner also.

He can make pretty anything you want to order for £23.5 in a few days. Even emails you photos for approval.

Anyone know much about Edox watches?

Was looking at Tissot or Hamilton or Christopher Ward but might up my budget a bit as have seen a couple of Edox ones I quite like - seem to have been around for a while, swiss made and using ETA movements - has anyone on here owned one?

Crumbled and picked up a Seamaster Pro chrono automatic new model with the ceramic bezel and plain watch face (doesn't have the textured wave effect of the older model), same as in Chris 344 pictures earlier in the thread.

Very, very pleased with it, another small tick box completed on the "list of stuff before I die" :)

Hmm ok this is getting increasingly more difficult. Just seen the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Automatic http://www.christopherward.co.uk/men/view-all-mens/c60-tri-skk.html

What an ****** beautiful watch! It hasn't got a rear viewing window, but overall I prefer a watch than can stand some tough use, especially diving.

This is now my top favourite, and works out at £305 ex VAT.

Plus I REALLY like Christopher Wards business ethics and the immaculate customer service that he provides, not to mention the oozingly high quality of the presentation materials.

This caught my eye a few pages back, looks very nice with the white stitching in the strap.

Strap found here. http://www.watchobsession.co.uk/KNIGHT-Leather-Watch-Strap-BLACK
