*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

*That's the thing though, mine feels really solid and a real quality bit of kit.

That's because they've used quality materials, but assembled them badly/wrongly/hopelessly. :p

Think its a bit early to be coming to that conclusion, no problems with mine.

I don't think it is. Obviously not all of them are bad, but a lot of them seem to be.

It's just like the HTC One X, well made materials but assembled by donkeys. They had loads of problems with them.

Grasping at straws (slim silver lining) but maybe those of us suffering from delayed orders will get a later production batch without these faults?....no?...:p

Doing a me on PB S3s I see regarding possibly getting a black one from the recall :p

If mine has noticeable screen flex on the left side then it will get sent back.

I pre-ordered on the 27th of June. I cancelled by email on the 28th as my spidey senses were tingling something chronic which, as it turns out, were spot on. I told them that I can not afford the device and requested that they send me an email confirming my cancellation. As I had received nothing back from them by the next day I emailed the same request to them. Having still heard nothing I did the same on the 5th of July and the 10th only to receive that email this morning, advising me that my nexus 7, which I had cancelled 4 times, would indeed be delivered to me and just for an extra giggle it would be......late!

They enrage me with a comedy wit that would be the envy of the Brothers Chuckle. 40 minutes on the phone was ample to induce mental entropy as they lack a decent classics mix to subdue you with. However, now that I had the chance to here the part of the holding message that states "you will be dealt with in the order that you bla bla bla....." I can say with pride, "I was there".

They have of course charged my card, so I am delighted to have been chosen to pay interest on an item I have cancelled four times and have also received the special bonus limited chance offer of the joy of incurring further charges when returning it to them. If I ran my business like this, which trains monkeys to mix ice cream with cheese, I would be fined and eventually be closed down or go bust in a sunny cheese splat, which is, coincidently, the name of our new range.

We are ruled by either crooks or morons that morph from one in to the other as profit dictates.

Edit: Although I'll most likely keep it :P

That sound exactly like the way they dealt with me, except they haven't sent me any emails at all, nor a device. Grrr.

Mine jsut arrived!

Order from google on the 6th and the 8th. Two orders.

Order from pcworld last night, and it should be here anytime in the next 4 hours.. It better be anyway!

Now to see if google actually cancel my order as i have requested!

After seeing Tom's raised screen 'defect' I've looked at mine and seen the same thing. I've had it almost a week without noticing and now... I don't care at all. Apple types may be prepared to pay extra for perfection but the real world has flaws. And this is such a minor, minor flaw most normal folk will never even notice. This is storm in a thimble territory and I think anyone upset by this kind of thing possibly has expectations the market will never be able to meet. Not in this price range.

Does anyone have any ideas about where to find a Flash APK? I though Adobe hosted them on their site but cant seem to find the location.

Currys are being a nightmare, talking to the most pompous arrogant little **** ever, telling me in store they'll have to test it because it doesn't affect general use.

Well just spoke to Currys, they are Minus 165 units so I can only opt for a refund. They have no idea when they will receive more units back in stock.

And yeah this is definitely not a me being anal issue, it isn't an acceptable fault.

Gutted, oh well. Guess it saves me £200. :/

Stores will have them next week so it must be soon.

I hope Google learn from just how bad their customer service has been. I've cancelled my order from elsewhere and am just going to give in and accept delivery. Can't be doing with having two arrive.

Odd thing, but saying using Chrome on mine, it wont Auto rotate to landscape mode, do I have to turn it on or something?

The thing is though, Tom notices issues that no other person would notice or really care about :p :D

Just how bad is it?

Is it only noticeable under certain conditions and if just using normally etc. would you notice it?

Personally if it were me and I didn't notice any issues under normal/standard usage then I would keep it, if it is very noticeable under standard usage then it would be sent right back!

If the screen is starting to come out of the casing, that's not just a 'meh' thing.

Also, "Apple types" and "the real world"... what on earth?! Are you saying that just because something is expensive it won't have faults, and vice versa?
