Try not to use your free XP unless you really need to. 16k sounds like tier 5 to 6 and there are much more potentially painful grinds. Try to use it for modules and not the next tank; you realy need XP for tracks on some tanks just so you aren't using a joke gun at stock. If you have enough tanks to play instead just save that final grind for daily's. I have a fair few stinkers and arty which I just do doubles on.

Evil was ninja'd me :( I skipped the end of the AMX40 too and the somua was got awful.)
 
That low tier french tanks are almost all dreadful? Can't speak for the SPG line but the Tier 2 TD is great fun, the Tier 3 TD is basically a Marder II, though worse in every conceivable way. Bought the 12t again for the patch for a free tank slot so not tried the T4 yet. Also haven't bought a B1 which I'm not looking forward to ><
 
yes its mostly tier 5 > 6 where I need to get 30000+ xp. Also after two t6 arty's. Thanks for the tips.

this might seem a stupid question but how do you not use the free experience if you research a tank, does it offer you the choice of using it or not or do you just make sure you have enough normal xp ?
 
B1 is hell; it has possibly the worst gun of its tier but you can angle the thing for some bounces.

The T4 french TD is worse than the hetzer but the T5 SCA is a little gem imo with the 105 (you can't hit anything moving fast due to 4 sec aim time but with 165 pen and 300 damage it packs a decent punch), gun arc that almost goes 90degrees to the right and 400 view range. Accuracy is good; better than the paper stat suggests.

I played the SCA all weekend for the 50% bonus credits. Doing dailys on the T6 (1/2 price at the weekend!) atm which seems worse but don't have top gun yet; its is one tank you need free XP for the tracks as the stock gun is orrible.

the B1 could not hit a barn door 100m away. i hated it, even though the MM can be kind to it, most games u are top.

i also ended up using free xp to get past the B1 and AMX40, truely horrible tanks. (even though i got a fluke game in the amx and got 7 kills ;))

Had a battle last night, assault where the attackers were a bunch of noobs and basically didnt attack. Bet they thought it was standard. Anyway this one single B1 was the only tank that ventured out and it got absolutely pounded. Cant remember name of the map its the sandy one where <1> is left and <2> is right and <2> always defends.

Wish I had video'd it as the B1 had a charmed life or we were poor shots it was like under a continuous barrage for about 5 minutes before being knocked out. At one point I was watching it (being arty) and 6 explosions occured at the same time all round it. He hid behind a building, it got demolished, he then moved behind another building, it got demolished. Funniest thing I have ever seen on this game.

Afterwards he made a comment saying it felt like 1000 shells had landed near him, all he could see was constant smoke and explosions.
 
need some advice please.
starting to unlock a lot of tier 6/7 tanks, and as they are so expensive, i will need to concentrate on just 2 or 3 research trees.
i will soon/already have unlocked

Out of the last ones I'd probably go the IS line. I enjoyed the Tiger & Tiger II but for some reason I struggle with the E-75. Maybe just because stock is harder to deal with higher tier, I dunno.

Also enjoyed the IS but really love the IS-3, one of my favourite tanks, so that's why I said the IS line.

Haven't really done many US or French tanks.

The IS or ARL 44 are probably your best bets. Always thought of the ARL 44 as a useless hunk of junk (probably because I've mostly seen them stock) but Links been having some good rounds with it. IS is just an excellent tank. With its penetration you will get outmatched sometimes but others you can deal a ton of damage to higher tier tanks or just roll through most tanks if you're top tier. Tiger P is quite a popular tank but the rest of its line isn't so great.

AMX 75 is a good choice for the reason you said, its gonna get more expensive soon.

SU-152 vs JagdPanther... tough choice. Depends which line you'd prefer really. The german snipers or the russian boomsticks.

Meds, take your pick really.

Better to try and get a mix of tanks anyway. Only high tier tanks I had were SPGs and TDs before I bought a bunch of tank slots. Now I'm pushing up Med/Heavy trees... and I was gonna do some of that grinding now, only my first match in Type = 300-700 ping and packet loss. Least I'll still make some money ><
 
thanks guys, i was deffo going to go down the IS line, as i have the top gun already unlocked from my KV-3
good advice over the tiger.
what about the USA heavys?, i know the M6 is bad, but the T29 seems to be good

Nice :D Like lambs to the slaughter? Looks like you were 1 point off the Defender flag too.

Think I needed to quit while I was ahead for this session. Last 3 rounds. Ferdi as top tier, came down to me and a T28, pinned in our base against 5 enemies. Got a Top Gun and we won in one of the closest rounds I've played lately. Second round in PzIV in a T6 game, also Top Gun, not as close but still a damn good round. Followed by PzIII/IV in a T7 match where I got owned ^^
 
nice, you got the howitzer on it?
i got 9 kills on that tank, and we lost!
can 1 shot any tank its own tier
