*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

The screen raise issue is actually nothing to do with glue. It's held in by a number of screws.

Some people tightened the screws up which applied a temporary fix, but the issue soon came back.

Yeah I tightened my screws last night and thought it was sorted. Sadly not. I couldn't figure out why the screen was loose again this morning. I figured it must be glue... Unless the screws were over tightened at the factory and stripped the thread?

Reading the XDA defects thread makes for depressing reading.

Has anyone got a N7 that is fault free?

Still waiting for my 8GB order from Play Store.

Plenty of us, day2 and still no sign of any screen raise or any of these issues posted. :)

The build quality of mine is fantastic by the way. Amongst all this negativity and defect hunting those with good units don't seem to be heard on just how good this unit feels, fantastic choice on materials.

Me and thousands of others it seems. I was fully expecting to get a defective unit.

Tom to me seems way too intent on destruction of this great tablets reputation to not be a troll in my opinion. At this point I'm questioning whether he ever got one of these tablets at all.

I said I loved the tablet for the short time I used it.

Unboxed mine in <30seconds, don't see what the big deal is with the box being difficult?

If you loved the tablet you would do what any reasonable person would do when taking something they love that is faulty back to the store, order a replacement.

I admit the fault % of this item does seem higher then it should be, however despite that those with faults are still the minority. Like with anything else those with faults will talk about it and those without will just say nothing and continue to use the item trouble free.
