MBP 15" retina 3-4 weeks!!

Mark i just popped a thread in the Apple software section, wandering if you could help as you know your stuff :)

ill put it in here as well

I did the same at first, there is a file you download when you start to bootcamp, it has all the drivers on it, you just run that file and everything then works even when in bootcamp (screen, key brightness, sound etc).

yeah baby yeah!!!

just got shipping notification from our warehouse. will be with me in the morning :)

couldn't be happier :)

Seems I might actually go ahead and get the new Retina Macbook.
Just one , probably silly, questioon. I see Dixons do cashback @ 5% at the moment.

Is there any disadvantages of buying through them, rather than Apple directly?

Nope. Unless you're entitled to the Apple HE discount which is higher and comes with 3yr hardware warranty.

HE gives you the three year warranty, not the fact that your're buying via Apple. You can add AppleCare for.. erm.. around £260 to extend a normal warranty to 3 year though.

If the retina-equipped MBP supported 32GB of RAM I'd order one tomorrow. Damn you Apple for dangling the carrot and then yanking it away :(

EDIT: I do know that this a pipe dream :P

Apple MacBook Pro, Intel Core i7 QC 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM, 512GB Flash, 15.4" Retina, NOOPT, Intel HD, Webcam, Bluetooth, Thunderbolt, Apple OS X Lion on it's way.. thank you muchly :D

If i could change anything with mine id have gone for the 512gb flash drive, 256 is fine but it can be a bit limiting to what you get on it. I reckon its probably worth spending the extra £500 for what you get after initially considering it not worth it.

You seem to be running Win7 and installing all the games you can find though. :p

I view the SSD as upgradeable at a later date, the extra 8gb of RAM on the other hand - that's what is needed at build time.

It's still upgradeable though, which was my point - where as the RAM isn't without a new logic board.

I thought I'd be of the same mind as you within a very short time as I'm a bit lazy when it comes to backing all my stuff up to my Nasbox, so that's why I went for the 512.

Ordered mine, got it next day.
