*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

I have one sitting on reservation with purple shirts from earlier. I'm undecided if to try another one again. :p

Is their anything in the same league as the Nexus 7 for around the same price point? I could add maybe another £50 to my budget of £200.

No not even refurbed.

I just bought this for mine till the better ones start coming out.

Now to see if I can find one of those Noosy micro usb otg flash drive u disk microsd card readers.

I have just got home and it seems my sister is blind (or i am)

I cannot feel any difference between the left and right side to indicate the left is raised a little.

No dead pixels or dents either. Is there anything i can do software wise to check if i do have any dead pixels?

You can download Dead Pixel Checker from the market.

just unboxed mine, looks intact, but not really gone into detail. having the galaxy nexus with jellybean it really is like holding a big version of my phone :D really pleased and well worth the cash in my view. So what to spend the £15 on? any good eye candy games?

Shadowgun is a good one.

Just a reminder about one of the Nexus7's most impressive party tricks (on wifi)...
1) Maps.
2) Tap & hold a random location.
3) Select Streetview from the menu off the '>' to the right
4) Now select 'Compass Mode' from the three dots menu at the top of the Streetview screen.
5) Wave your 7 around.

Some people might not be impressed, or may have seen it work on a good phone (I'm guessing). But it impressed my inner five year old more than I care to admit.

Shadowgun, Dead Trigger, Guerilla Bob spring to mind.

I'm returning mine. The left hand side definitely got worse over the past week with it creaking everytime you hold it with your left hand. No one has stock now though so can't get a replacement. :(

I hope they fix the screen installation issues. Just requires a bit of care when fitting.

Yes, don't use software to search for dead pixels you can't see through normal use.

Posting this from PC World order that turned up this afternoon. Looks perfect a the moment, although that could change.

I love it so far, much nicer than the first gen iPad it replaced.

Just a quick question, I didn't enter a credit card on first setup, how can I do it now to claim the £15?
