Pull the back off with a credit card and remove the sticky back foam tape that is pushing the screen away from the frame like I did? It probably will get worse if you don't, the screen is having pressure placed on it from behind which is why it's being pushed up. When the tablet gets hot it will mean the remaining glue is likely to fail.

I thought that wasn't the issue and still comes back? The issue is the frame is smaller over that area and the glue won't hold.

Cheers.

This device is incredible! Only had a short play last night, got my apps down but havnt customized it yet.
No issues here *smug*

Mine was direct from GP, Im wondering if they are a second batch....

Its easy enough to say no issues, and then start noticing them a week or so later.

Give it time :)

If that happens I will get a new one sent to me and send this back. first batches always have issues, people need to lay off on the slating. It IS a great device.

Well I just picked mine up from Tesco.

Their is very minimal screen lift, can't really tell at all. Their doesn't appear to be any dead pixels however the colours do look a little washed out. Not sure why that is.

Tesco couldn't arrange a second swap out because "Computer says no" , it would result in a charge. So they've had to arrange things differently, but he said it would get sorted today and expect a courier tomorrow. Shame I won't be in.

Said they will try again on Friday though.

Think in future I will just buy everything from stores to save this hassle.

So you're not going to get another at the door replacement?

So....no screen lift and auto brightness is on.

WINNER.

The screen looking washed out and minimal screen lift will annoy TOm_D, might say it doesn't at the minute, but give it a day or 2 and he will be returning it for those reasons :D :p

Exact same thing happened with the GS 2 and 4s (which were normal enough "problems" really) :p

There is screen lift lol. I press it down but it pops back up shortly after. If I swap it out I risk getting one with more faults so I'm not sure what to do.

Edit. Turning auto brightness off helped so cheers for that.

Yeah, but it wasn't straight forward. They have to do it as a fresh order and use their inhouse money card to do it. Daft.

Just have to wait and see.

At first he was like "Well, there isn't much stock left and back orders to fill for other people" and I put an end to that BS, they've already got my money. It's getting sorted.

Their techline they kept pushing at me wanted me to buy an app to try and fix it. lol

If no courier shows tomorrow then I know i've basically been fobbed off, then they can have it back and i'll just get a refund. Wait for a better 7" tablet to hit the market.

loop the transformers or any other high def video while clamping it ;)

I know that supposed to fix it but I shouldn't have to do things like this tbh.

What can you use to clamp it though ?

I rang tesco and they're sending a replacement to store tomorrow, they were superb and the guy said most of the returns he processed on the n7 were for lifted screens.

He said to check the device before I swap it tomorrow. :-)

Ringing 11am GMT is around 5am their time and I still get 1 hour of wait.

In another note, for those wanting to use flash, Firefox is the most stable and compatible browser I have found for flash and jelly bean. All the flash features work (full screen included) and it doesn't crash every few clicks.

is that with flash APK loaded or just firefox?

This will be Tom tomorrow in the Tesco store inspecting the replacement n7 :D

"sorry but that just isn't perfect enough, this one has 0.4mm screen lift! Onto the next n7 please!"

Rinse and repeat for the next 50 devices :D

:p
