any ghom inferno killers about? im getting near the point where i would pay lol

What class are you? I used to be able to kill but i swapped my gear to make later act 3 progression easier, and ironically, its made Ghom impossible again!
Would need 700k or so for another 600+ LoH Weapon (low DPS is fine)

-edit-
NM, picked up a 600DPS one for 50k and can kill him again, i sent you a friend request.

I think this is always how it has been. I got really disheartened when I hit a brick wall originally in act 2 inferno, knowing that I would have to farm for ages to be able to progress. Then I got lucky, sold a ring for 20 million and the world was my oyster :) That was a couple of months ago now but I don't think I could have handled playing the game anymore if it wasn't for that bit of luck..

I'm not sure this works any more though, with the AH being nearly dead? For example I've put up a 2 hand box which had 1100dps, 450 LOH and a starting price of 5000 (surely this is worth at least 100k?) and not got a single bid. I've now got 10 auctions running, all lvl63 items and no bids on any of them, and my stash is full of similar stuff which I think is too good to vendor but I can't shift any of it.

Anyone else reckon the RMAH would be just as profitable if it didn't have items for sale that pretty much cheats you through the content?

It'd still be a cashcow if it had things that don't directly power your character. Things like extra stash pages, dyes and other looks customisation of characters, EXP boost on new characters if you've already got a level 60, extra slots to host auctions on the GAH.... and whatever else they can think of to add. In my opinion it'd appeal to a larger market as i for one would spend to upgrade how many auction slots i have but i'd never spend any money on an individual item. Blizzard would still make a shedload of money but it wouldn't change the power of the characters allowing people with lots of money willing to spend which is pretty much cheating their way through the content.

It's such a shame that the loot system is governed by the auction houses. Please sort it out Blizzard.

not touched rmah at all, 85hrs played (not as most as some) and found 2 yellows that were any good for my char. and nothing of use i could rmah for some cash.

I hope they patch issues asap and make it worth playing D3 again. I just farm now cba to move on to act 2 inferno.

I think the AH has been hit by all the people trying to gear in the same cookie-cutter fashion.
As in if an item has all res, +crit chance or +crit damage, then it will sell (and probably for quite a lot). If it hasn't got one of those "must have" stats, then it's going to be a tough sell.

Your point being? Authenticators are far from fool proof and they are completely free. You don't even need a smart phone, you can run one on an emulator.

That is my exact point , they are free to anyone with a smart phone or you can run one on an emulator. No reason for EVERYONE not to have one.

This makes it more secure than any other MMO i know of.

Ive been trying to sell items with all the 'must have stats' and it just doesn't sell at all anymore. Things worth 10 mill just won't go for 800k.

Yeah. It's so lame with there only being 3 required stats (4 if you add LoH to that). I'm pretty sure most affixes in Diablo 2 could be used decently if you wished to build your character that way.

On D3 it doesn't even matter what class you are, you're still looking for primary stat + those 3 (or 4) affixes. I almost went off on a rant about the skill system then, but i think i've done that enough. This game is just a decent, albeit easy co-op game up until Inferno act 2, then it's just an auction house simulator. I know i've said it before, but D2 was still pretty **** at this stage of it's life and i still have faith that they can stop being greedy and turn this into something good.

And the other side of this coin is that trying to upgrade my DH to have a chance in Inferno act III is impossible as I can't sell anything I have, and I can't afford anything on the AH as all the decent stuff is still being listed at 10m or whatever even if it's not selling.
