You can get them from ilvl 61+ blues and yellows too, but very rarely.
 
So I've not got this yet, as I've been unable to, but I can, I was a huge fan of the original Diablo, my first online game and I loved it, Diablo 2 was okay, but I never got that into it nor did I get very far into it. I've played a lot of WoW (by a lot I mean too much) and I do think Blizzard make some great games, I'm just wondering what the general consensus is on this, as I've heard a lot of mixed reviews. Sometimes I think this is because people come from CoD or whatever expecting something else, but I know with the PC community the reviews are normally pretty honest by hardcore gamers. So yeah, do I buy or don't I? It's not so much the cost that's putting me off, but I generally invest a bit of time in a game before giving up and as I'll be boosting a WoW toon up to 85 for Panda I don't want to dump a bit of time into Diablo 3 and find out that it's dong at the end of the game.
 
Ok, so after much farming, scrimping and tweaking my build, i'm finally competitive on inferno act 2 with the stats below:

Some of the elite packs still give me a hard time with the odd death here and there but overall it's bearable.

Could always use some more tips though :)
 
How'd you get that much damage? I've spent nearly 7 million on gear, got through act 2 and now, bar some silly elite combos it's on farm and can kill elites in act 3, int is almost 2k but my damage is only 36.2k compared to yours.... are you 1 shotting things?
 
It's only that high due to lots of critical hit damage on various items. My weapon has about 1100 dps but 75% crit damage along with other items it adds up to 272% which racks up my max damage output quite nicely when you combine it with loads of dex on various items. Some smaller critters do get one shotted :D But the elites still take a pounding.

real dps will be a lot lower

My tooltip dps says 58k dps and i roflstomp act 3. The dps number isnt everything :)

Yeh, I do have that skill selected. So you are right, my damage output isn't quite as good as the damage figure implies. I'm still slaughtering most things on act 2 inferno though :D

Edit: Just absolutely battered Maghda at the first attempt :D

I don't know why you guys need so much stats and gear to get past Act 2 and 3, unless you managed to not spend more than say 2 million. I have never farmed for gear and without spending much on AH and crappy Resist All and Armor, I'm now on Act 4.

I've probably spent 7m on gear to be competitive on act 2. No idea how you've managed it then. You must have been incredibly lucky with your item drops.

Or he plays a DH and so didn't need to fight most enemies and skipped anything he couldn't kill. Try that with any class that needs to be able to actually fight not kite and it fails miserably.
 
So I'm thinking about picking this up again, but could do with a little update on the current state of the wiz.

Basically I quit playing when they 'fixed' a few bugs, so my current equip is aimed at attack speed / crit %, and I only have around 1mil to respec... Is there a viable build currently which works well with this stat base? If not what is my best option, I was farming A2/3 before but now its effectively impossible.

Most builds are viable if your gear supports it. If you were one of those 4.5k HP 1500 HP/s Energy Armor Wizards then you'll have to re-run Hell for gear.

I think I'm making only about 150k per hour farming Act I, with 100% MF and 50% GF (before NV of course). Problem is I can't up my MF/GF gear much without spending a ton of cash to get it, so basically I'd need to farm for a whole day just to be able to farm at a higher rate! I'm stuck in progressing in the game though (at belial) so guess farming's my only option....
 
Guess can you tell me if this ring is worth anything?

dex = 78
Attack speed = 7%
LoH = 233
Fire res = 44

Looking for similar stats and there are only 2 rings on the gold AH priced at 120mil and 20 mil. Is this correct? surely not.

Sorry mate, didn't realise you were stuck at Belial, thought we had done that, I should be on Friday night if you or anyone wants to join (AshenShugar#2446). Act I inferno is no problem, very rarely die on Act II and not to Zoltan or Belial. Been farming Act II and haven't found any decent drops, although the items levels are much better than Act I. Act III is another matter, Elites and Champions very difficult for me, I have killed Ghom at about the 10th attempt and it's a pain, Siege Breaker was straightforward at first attempt. Only tried Act III sparingly and having trouble with the Elites/Champions so can't say much about drops.

Attacks/Sec: 1.33 Pretty low, but a shield is a must for me.

Probably spent 2 million total on most of the equipment, just bought a new weapon for 2.5 million to get past Ghom and make inroads to Act III, finding improvements for less than several million is no longer possible, in fact most stuff similar to my equipment is out of my price range by millions and I probably bought it for 50-200k, nothing is selling and ppl still putting stuff up for ridiculous prices :confused:
