Judging by the post rate in this thread now compared to June, I'd say most of us have moved on to something less boring now after realising the amount of commitment required to progress. I know I haven't touched the game for two weeks now, having stalled completely in Act 1 of Inferno.

And it's all because Blizzard wanted a cash cow in the AH/RMAH, making drop rates so low so as not to flood the economy and thus keep prices high. It's a real shame as underneath it's a fun game, but when it becomes such a grindfest, there are too many other fun games out there to persist.

I'm not dissing the game as such, it's the infra-structure Blizzard created around it that killed the fun, which is a real shame.

more likely that now that the games initial period has passed the amount of whiners has now diminished in the thread, if you look back across the posts and seperated the useful posts from the moans im sure you would see half the number of pages.

Im still enjoying D3, but then again i havent rushed through it, had to buy millions of gold worth of gear and then grind for weeks on end to get a single +5 stat increase on a slot.

The people who got burned out in the early period, still got their moneys worth if they look at the number of hours spent for the cost of the game compared to others.

This game will always polarize the audience, some bought it expecting D2 which was never gonna happen, others (myself included) totally underestimated how much the AH would dominate the game.

Why grind for any gear when you can instantly get massively better gear for your level for a stupid price on the AH. Only at inferno levels does gear prices get beyond the casual gamers.

Thats the games biggest flaw. The very essent of the game (the loot) became more about what you could find listed on the AH rather than what would drop from the next mob. It became a game of luck on the AH rather than luck with drops.

Ive played the game slowly (only have one level 60 atm progressing through Act2 inferno, and have loved every minute of it. Now im starting to hit that wall where i really cant progress without spending millions on new gear or hoping for that lucky drop, when your a player who has about 300k gold to your name those upgrades just wont happen without the grind, so ill prob just start a new toon and enjoy a different playstyle.

Got the game with my WOW annual pass and its more than made that worth my while, maybe if the people who had positive things to say had a voice as loud as the people whining then some people on the fence about buying the game may have a better opinion of it but thats a discussion for another day :)

I'm in pretty much the same boat sharpy, only 1 lvl 60 character and currently still farming Hell Act 3 to get some better gear. Haven't done badly so far, and as a result of the farming I have found some cracking stuff for my Barb (lvl 55) and DH/Wiz/Monk when I actually start playing them.

I have managed to steer clear of the GAH/RMAH so far and am hoping to get through Inferno without having to resort to that but I know that finding exactly the right stuff is going to take a while. Still really enjoy playing it and can still see me playing this a for a good while, especially levelling up my other characters.

I stopped playing for 2-3 weeks and came back after that break yesterday. Few hours then, few hours today - still enjoying the gameplay. Shame that the AH has kinda spoiled it really.

Maybe we'll just have to get to a point where we organise multiplayer nights?

I'm looking forward to seeing how they bring pvp into it. I can imagine 1v1 being very imbalanced, but group fights should be fun! :)

Got to agree with what someone said earlier about hardcore being more fun/like a new game, inferno now with my barb and it can be worrying when health even goes below 50% sometimes.:p

3.5 hours straight now I've been farming and not 1 item I've found worth above 150k, and in total only made about 500k from items. I've actually made more money on gold from selling junk and picking up coin than I have from items.

I'm not even after upgrades really as I know that finding an upgrade for my gear farming in Inferno is going to be like winning the lottery, but I just want something to sell and getting utter junk :/ Been like this for days now.

Just come to load the game and my desktop shortcut and the .exe in the installation do not work anymore!

Something fishy going on as if some virus has changed the file paths or something similar. Just scanning now but will have to reinstall I think.

Got lucky and found a Skull grasp ring which sold for 44m, Finding upgrades for my barb hard to come by though, now I have a few quid it seems ive lost the urge to buy anything.

Why is the cost of Diablo 3 still so high? I was going to give it a bash, but don't really can't justify spending that amount.

I've given up on my barb for now, I can't make it past act 2 farm status and I think I'll not bother farming anymore other than the act 3 charity runs flibby takes me through :D

It's just too frustrating now, getting nothing to show for the hours put in to find upgrades or something to sell.

I've started a DH and I'll play that until GW2 releases.

Shame though as I've loved the franchise, had some good initial fun with D3, got my monies worth etc.

Sure its not just being blocked for some stupid reason by an antivirus? I wouldn't put it past Avira.

I get bored playing solo, and all i ever see on the public menu is:

Players on this quest: 0

Players on this quest: 2

Players on this quest: 0

Players on this quest: 1

Considering the amount of players in the game, why do most avoid co-op?

Blizzard needs to entice more people into it.
