Guild Wars 2

i am at creamfields when this comes out and also back at work when i come back so i am a bit guttered i wont be on it at launch but i am really looking forward i havnt heard many bad things about the game this could be a good time fill till MOP lol ;D
 
Can anyone share the sort of performance drops they experienced in WvWvW? I accept that WvWvW is likely to give a bit of a performance hit and that my old Phenom isn't up to much nowadays, but the difference between 50+ FPS while questing in large event groups, to being lucky if I hit 10fps in WvWvW is quite a kick (~30fps I could deal with, for now)
Minimum or Max settings made near enough no difference, so I'm guessing my 6870 is holding up fine and it's time to chop in the 720BE. Anyone care to put my mind at rest (and my wallet cry) and confirm?
 
When Creating a Class and it shows your the armor - does that mean you will look like that at the end of the game? I was going to do a theif on one class and he looked poo ha-ha
 
Rumour has it that those of us who use an Nvidia card will be getting a new set of drivers on either 15th or 21st of this month that have been upgraded specifically to take into account the GW2 graphics and to resolve the few issues that some people with some Nvidia cards have been having with GW2 (I've been absolutely fine myself). The latest driver on Nvidia is 301.42 but I understand the developer version they are currently working on is 305.58 although revisions might take place changing the version number.

I am looking forward to some organised WvWvW stuff. I logged on last night but a little late on, only had 20 minutes or so. Decided to keep with my Asura Engineer.
Ran around a little, checked out some vistas and did not a lot. Popped into the mists but was little happening of any worth..so popped out.
I have now booked the week off work it is out.
Did not seem to be many from the Immortals online last night, or they were all ignoring me...:-(

In fact there was only about 12 of us on line, there was 5 in our group, and I did say in guild chat grouping up for WvWvW, but TBH was not worth it for a hour run.

Was probably way before the time I logged on to have a play. You did reply to me, my character name was Evangalista so not having a moan or nuffin.

I will organise myself slightly better for go live.

Ahh yeah I saw you in guild chat and I replied by tell ..sinii asked me why I did not reply :p ..this was while the bugger was killing me in sPvP :mad: ... he will get the guilds dirty jobs :D
 
Good news about the drivers ! :) the only thing i can find not perfect about the game is the terrain pop/textures 'flashing', it is especially noticeable for me when i run down one of the ramps in divinitys reach and some of the roof tiles on whole sections of houses seem to be sending me an SOS (or maybe they are trying to tell me which class to play?)
 
Yeh so the client now tells you if your running the buggy versions of nVidia drivers that don't work so well with the game. I suppose asking for an apology from Sin_Chase for calling me a liar would be expecting a little much...

Either way the new drivers coming on the 15th are supposed to fix all present issues with nVidia cards so everyone should see a little bit of a performance boost!
 
Last night I thought I would first just replay my Guardian a little first to see how the enemy AI reacted to the AoE I put down. Last time I played the Guardian the AI kept running out of it. It seems this is now fixed and made it a blast to play. So much so that that hour semed like 10 minutes.

Still cant decide on class though, hope there is another stress test on Thursday.
