I finished reading it at about half 1, only an hour and a half of /funny has made me ready to stop me from dying from dehydration :(

I think I just broke my reddit cherry in the best possible way.
Honestly, I have never been there before.
That was amazing, utterly fantastic.
Good job I've got a white candle beside me already lit.

Although technically the last thing he written was "This is most likely what I'll be doing. People are getting all crazy here too." after a user suggested he lay low for a while.

And no, I'm not sleeping till daylight now.

Reddit is slowly ruining my life, I got in from a friends at about 11pm last night, been on Reddit since :(

Went on it for the first time ever a few days ago, you just end reading for hours!
 
many years ago when i was a young lad i was out with friends and noticed i had lost my watch, dont know where and dont know how, now heres the odd bit, a few weeks later we were playing football in a local park and after we sat down on the grass for a bit of a chat and as i sat down i suddenly noticed something shiny by my feet, thats right only my watch that i lost weeks before.
 
heres a mild one.

was at a cash machine taking some money out for my mum. two chavs approached behind me ready to pounce. the machine swallowed the card and they walked away mystified.

someone was looking out for me that day.
 
I was at work and my mobile phone rang, it was my Dad. I was busy and I left it to go to voicemail. About 5 mins later my Mum walked in (she worked for the same company, but in another part of the building). She said that Dad had just called, and our new puppy had been hit by a car and he's taking her down to the vets. I said that must have been why he called me too.

A short while later I go to call Dad to see how the puppy was and I noticed no missed call or voicemail. I spoke to him and asked why he didn't leave a voicemail, he said he hadn't called me. I said he called me about 2-3 minutes before Mum, and he said no as that was when the puppy got hit.
There was no dialled number on his phone either.

I'm usually open minded and believe there is a rational explanation for most things, but that one's got me stumped.

When I was a little kid my nan used to take me and my sister to the park a lot, one day I had a dream that she had taken us there and while I was exploring in the bushes/trees surrounding the park I found hidden a large musical keyboard (this was like 1990 so think giant musical keyboard with a floppy drive like a composer would use). Anyway after this I always made a point of looking in those bushes whenever I went to the park, dunno why, around 5 years later my nan had since been moved to a home but one day my mother took me and my sister to the park after visiting the doctors (its next to the surgery) and while there I found the keyboard in the bushes just like I pictured. We took it to the police station and were told it had been stolen from the villages music school the night before (I didn't mention my dream to the police ofc). Still makes me feel uneasy thinking about it all lol.
 
Went to see 'Attack of the Clones' with a friend back when I was about 11, sat right at the back, a bit into the film a guy enters and weirdly sits next to me, bit odd as the cinema is by no means full.

I can't quite remember if he spoke to me or not but pretty sure he did, he had some sort of disability affecting his speech or perhaps was even deaf. I think he at least said Hello though or asked me if I liked Star Wars, so maybe not deaf. I tried to be polite.

Anyway after a while he digs his finger into my shoe sort of where the ankle is, think I had my feet curled up under me on the seat or something, can't quite remember.

I react in shock by kicking out and catch his leg with my foot, he let out a strange moan of shock and/or pain, then got up and left.

I remember not really thinking much of it at the time and still never have really, I wasn't scared, probably as he didn't stick around after.

Pretty weird looking back at it though, why put his finger in my shoe?!
 
A couple of days ago, while building a compost heap, I found part of a gravestone in the back garden. I suppose some people might find that creepy!

I haven't told Mrs. Edrof as she is of a sensitive disposition.

Most of these come with..i was told about this creepy house..then i saw something
It was dark
I was young
I had an already present sense of fear

Yhe only ones that really interest me are those that dont have the above.

mine..one time i was in gym changing room, bent over to tie my shoe laces, some old guy was bent down behind me, his bare ass touched mine! eww
I also had the phantom poo from page one..must have been particularly hydrodynamic
Also..really creepy..lower sideburns in pool

Having just read dog, skulls , crater on p5 was womdering if there was any proof? Pics?

I've posted this account of something I remember from my childhood before in another scary stories thread but maybe it's worth revisiting.

When we lived in Beckenham I was maybe 5 or 6 years old. At that age most kids forget everything that happened apart from events of significance and that applies to me. This one event I can still picture vividly and it still remains unexplained.

We lived in a multi-storey house back then and my grandfather and his family lived with us, so my gran, aunt and uncle. I was heading off to bed one night and as I covered myself with the duvet I heard a fly buzzing around so I unwrapped the duvet from over my head to try and swat the fly and as I did this I noticed a tall figure standing at the edge of the doorway. My room doorway was slightly ajar and the hallway light on that landing was on but my room light was off so anything in the doorway was a silhouette.

I thought it was my dad at first checking to see if I was in bed and I called out to confirm…no reply, the tall figure just stood there, peering through and not moving at all.

I didn’t know what to do so did the only thing I could think of and curled into the duvet and closed my eyes.

I must have fallen asleep quite quickly but I have vague memories the next day asking if anyone was standing in the doorway and over the years have mentioned it when we get together and to this day nobody admits to standing in the doorway that night (or any night).

Equally bizarre is that nobody at the time was tall enough to reach the top of the doorway.

It’s worth noting that a man was hit by a van carrying a ladder around that same time. I don’t know if it was before or after this event but the man died in front of the house. He was hit at speed and bounced onto the ladder causing fatal injuries. I remember seeing the blood before an elder moved me away from the window.

It’s also worth noting that around that time again we were all heading out to visit relatives. Cars are parked across the street so I start to cross only to be pulled back with some force as a vehicle speeds by, I could have died that day :-/

Another incident happened in a dream when I was about 16. I saw my granddad (dad’s father) who lived in another country sitting in a hall on his own. He was wearing a scarf and cap and looking forwards into darkness. The hall had no features, only a plain ground.

I woke up and it was the morning and it was then that I’d been told he’d passed away. My parents received the call as soon as he’d passed at home but I had the dream in the middle of the night. I had no reason to have a dream about him as I’ve only seen him twice in my life.

I don’t believe in ghosts or the supernatural but I do believe we are all connected in a way we don’t understand perhaps.

These days many of you know that I explore and photograph abandoned places, mental asylums, hospitals and all things derelict. I have yet to hear a single peep from a specter dripping with ectoplasm :p

Funny you should say that, a very similar thing happened to my mum years ago, it scared her senseless.

Years ago my uncle (her brother in law) was working in Kenya and suffered a heart attack, during the night that this happened my mum had a dream about him where his face appeared out of nowhere in total darkenss and came right up in her face, she woke up quite scared and noted the time it happened, that morning she had a phone call from her sister telling her about his heart attack and it just so happened it was around the same time as her dream.
