Awesome, lets do this

I can't fit any training for it in at the moment, so it's literally going to be a one off crash and burn attempt or I might surprise myself.

LOL

just done a reality check and for me unstrapped is not good i failed at 300 in fact i failed at 270 un strapped.

Im disappointed. Lets see it ice, i think u rack pull and hold more than 270 put this juicer in his place!

I think we should do a gym ratz challenge to see who can do the heaviest static hold :). It must come clear of the pins/blocks and remain so for 5 seconds. What do we think?

I wouldn't do very well, for some reason I can't do static holds for **** :(.

thats fime m8 im blown away by my poor statics, i have a pb of 270 with a static nearer 225 (for 5 sec) thats atrocious imo ( i love my straps) need somethin to push me

also we gonna have ocuk 100kg x X challenge? i think ice wins already but be a good fun one i got 115 x 15 earlier on 531

sorry thats bench obv but we could have it for all lifts i think dead squat ohp and bench combioned could be good, ice also wins imo be intrigued to see what zuludawn could bring to table

RE: 100x"X" challenge:

- I'd get a whooping on the bench, there are some big benchers here

- I'd be pretty confident for squat, even though I'm not squatting at the moment I've got a video of 41 reps.

- OHP I wouldn't get 1 rep without some leg involvement

- Deads would be close between a few people, and it would suck!

well on bench im confident of 20+

on squat 41 makes me wanmt to call for mommy maybe half that

ohp i can do 5 clean

deads would be a massacre god knows, maybe 50? I dont know 1 rep calc thinks so but he hasnt met my lungs

ok seriously anyone got a remedy for cut up shins on dead day? Ill shave my legs, wax em i dont care im sick of all the blood ffs!!!!

I had this in the beginning. Since using long football socks (£2 from sportsdirect), I haven't had a problem since.

The problem becomes tricky when you have big scabs all up and down the shins. If those are there, there's almost nothing you can do, they will rip off. But if you can leave them long enough to heal, wearing long deadlift socks should prevent this. I'd just do rack pulls for a month whilst they heal up.

One thing you can try. Either some foot ball shin guards, or a big plastic drinking bottle. Take one of those big plastic bottles, cut it in half vertically, then just wrap each half around the front of your shins, under the long socks. I did this in the very beginning though, and it still took off a big scab and I had blood pouring down my shin onto my new Chucks. ymmv

C3 - Week 1: Deadlift

102.5x5
122.5x5
140x6

BBB:
90x8x4 - Couldn't get the 5th out. Was about ready to 'decorate' the room at this point.

Not as many as I hoped, but it gives me something to beat next week :)

I've never been good at high reps.

Bench - no chance, can only just about bench 100-110 at the moment.

Squat - no chance, I'm getting 5x150 at the moment just about

OHP - once it gets to 60kg I start using my legs

Deads - probably do ok, but nothing like my deadlinfting used to be though my grip is still good.

Haha, this could be fun. Are we talking 100 x Y (that would be the better way of formatting it, jsut sayin') in 60 seconds? Video entries only? I don't mind setting up a thread and league table if people are interested, have it as a monthly challenge :p

Booyah!

Powerful shouting gains on this programme.

The glutes are strong in this one. Epic lifting mate, on track for some nice 3xBW deads.

Deception, I think my post to Stiv also applies to you.

Stiv, 5 reps in the 2nd week is a little low, are you sure your maxes are correct? It's normally week one 10-11 reps, week 2 8-10 reps and week 3 6-8 reps.

Hitting 5 reps would mean my calculated RM would be quite a bit below the RM being used for the program (not the 90% RM, your actual RM you put in).

Unless you can walk into the gym tomorrow and pull 200, I wouldn't use that for your program. In fact, it's best to be on the conservative side. I would use 180. Yes leave 1 in the tank, but that should mean you're still hitting the numbers I mentioned before. For example I managed 10 last night for my 2nd week squats, and could have dug in for perhaps 1 or 2 more.

You need to have some slack in the program so you can hit these numbers, otherwise you'll stall quickly.

5 reps in week 1 is pretty bad, 10-11, or 12 if you're going all guns.

If you look at your spreadsheet you should see your calculated RM (from the + sets you do) to be around or above your RM you entered for the program.

For example 155 x 5 is a calculate RM of 174, yet you are using 200.

My week 1 I did 175 x 10 which is a caculated RM of 233, and I'm using 230 for my program.

Oh I know what you mean, but Im also having to lower it slowly as im working out at home and on the 2nd floor, so that takes a bit of energy. So, I know I wont be hitting the high reps; Aslong as I keep progressing (which im doing), I dont really mind.

Lower back was also feeling off from the Physio session yesterday, but thats no excuse, I know :)

Maybe once I finish Cycle 3, I will re-attempt new maxes and then start from Cycle 1 again.

Are the rest of your lifts in the 9-11 rep range?

Technically for ice hockey players, but I'm sure they'll be appreciated by us as well.

You're welcome.

just had a look and Squats was only 7, but bench was 10. Will be doing OHP tomorrow. So, you think I should get new maxes and start from scratch again?

I'm quite happy with my progress, but as you said, im not hitting the required rep ranges on my 1st weeks (Saying that, I am also on a cut and understand that my progress will be slower than normal).
