I never played beta, or anything and thinking about the game. Is there a trial around anywhere? just to see if i like it?

Ta.

I've tried this with a chest piece, can't remember what the recipe cost now but it's like 55k a time to craft plus 25 essences (1000 each on AH if you haven't salvaged I think) so approx 80k a time. Problem is that I don't have piles of cash so crafting a few which throw up garbage roles like +3 gf range gets expensive fast and I think, I could have just bought one off the AH for that!

Basically it comes down to luck. If you crafted 15 of them and spent 1m doing it, what are your chances that you get a good one or two in there that are worth more than 1m to cover your costs? I'm not brave enough to find out with my limited resources!

Yea im in a same boat as you. limited gold and still requires massive gear upgrades for act 3 and the idea of crafting i62 armors (recipe is like 100k from ah) seems good until now lol

You're better off buying Unid'd 63's from a reputable source if you can get them around 100k than you are crafting 62's; a) because dropped items can roll 7 affixes, and b) they can roll higher values due to being a 63.

Interesting. never knew that you could trade unidentified items. i might try this one day if i manage to get a source

thanks

I just farmed act 1 and 2 until i got to about 2 million in gold then spent it all on items and it made act 3 a bit more playable.

But yea there is definitely massive wall when you hit start of act 3 because item prices jump up in to inflated amounts that means you can't get any better items without spending real money or having a lucky drop that brings in 20 mil or something.

So I've been farming for a while and saving up a load of unidentified rares and a couple legendaries, is there any point in saving them until the patch gets released? Because I can pretty much guess they'll all end up being crappy stats at the moment if I inspect them all. Or will it just end up being crappy stats anyway after the patch

i think the legendaries needs to be freshly dropped after the patch for the buff to be applied although im not sure if pre-patch unIDd items will have the buff when IDd post patch

I'm nearly at the end of act IV now and the most I've spent in the AH on a single item was 500k. Act III wasn't too bad I thought in the end, took like a few hours and maybe 50-60 deaths but I made it through. Only skipped a couple of elite packs too.

So once I take down Diablo then what? Start all over with another character? Not sure I can be bothered to be honest....

I've been having issues all morning. Suspicious activity, account is locked. I've gone through the reset process 3 times today. Was locked within minutes of sorting out a reset. I've resorted to adding an authenticor to my account using my iPhone. Been problem free since setting it up.

Just thought it was me, but hope this isn't the start of something bigger!

Just tried to login online to link my profile here and got

"Due to suspicious activity, this account has been locked. A message has been sent to this account’s email address containing details on how to resolve this issue. Visit http://eu.battle.net/account/locked.html for more information."

WTF indeed. Was playing as normal last night and haven't been on since.

I'm not sure I agree with this for armor pieces. A 6 prop craft attempt is always 6 props. The likelyhood of the unid you buy also being 6 prop is not 100%.

Either way, unless you have millions to spare or like to gamble you are better off with the AH.

Also I'm pretty sure dropped items can still only roll 6 affixes. You just have to remember some affixes are more than one stat (ie str+vit) so you see more than 6 props on 1 item.

He'd be crafting 5 prop items for 80k though not 6. If it was 6 I'd agree with you and it'd be better to just craft the 6 props for 80k, but since it's 5 prop for 80k I'd personally rather fork over another 20k and get a 63 unid for 100k with the possibility of 6 prop and a much higher stat roll. You're right on 7 props though, the most they can have is 6.

My current weapon i paid a buyout price of 700k as i was getting frustrated with missing bids due to not having enough time to play the game or not playing it enough. Better items are realy up to 300k+ price now. I got lucky a few times like my current amulet i got for 2000 for example.

Almost had a heart attack. Suspicious activity account locked. Unlock and password reset was easy then saw my profile and 1 lvl 6 char I almost cried. Opened game and thankfully everything is intact and profile now shows correctly.

Wonder what the hell that was about? :(

You get to put your best wellies on and start farming ;)

Guys, tbh i was very dissapointed with the short storyline to this game. personally i like to make a meal of a game to really stretch it out and enjoy it, im still progressing through the skyrim storyline!

But this game, its so short and i really cant muster the will to grind through the same story again.. and again... and again! Unless im not understanding this type of game. will their be some type of content expansion from Blizzard?

Well on the plus side if you don't get outbit then you get that shiny new weapon for cheaper, which can't be a bad thing. ;)

Didn't win it. Kinda glad I didn't looking back now. Just dual weapons for a bit. Using 2 weapons worth about 25k each with strength and vitality + sockets (approx 670dps). Chucked 2 emeralds in and I'm already not far off the base damage of my main 2 hander. Having 2x critical hit damage and also 2 weapons worth of extra strength is pretty sweet.

Got some open bits on 1 handers with better base stats and 750+ dps with some decent gems and I reckon it should outdo the dps I'm getting with the 2 hander just about :)

The game itself is complete, but chances are there will be an expansion in the next year or so (as with Diablo 2 - Lord of Destruction), but there won't be the regular content updates that you see in games like Wow etc.
