Have you flashed the kernel?
Well that's just it, how do I do that? I think I might have, but I am not sure. I will have a look on XDA unless you can suggest otherwise?

Picking one up tommorow for my sister's Bday present; from Tesco. Looking forward to finally getting a hands on.
Whats the refund period for a faulty product refund - 14days or 7 days?
Yeh, XDA is where I get the instructions. I use Goo Manager. You need to let it install TWRP, then use Goo to flash the kernel. Also I use SuperSU to grant permissions.
Normally 28 days for a faulty product refund.
Not sure if I should get a 16gb or just get a 8gb and extend its storage by rooting for OTG.
I'd recommend getting the 16gb. Filled mine up pretty quickly.
Finally done it. TWRP installed, flashed the kernel and here is the end result after OC'ing to 1.7GHz on 1250Mv:
I've put it back to 1.3GHz in the meantime. But just wanted to test anyway![]()
Is that with apps or with media?
Just wondering, considering my 1tb External works perfectly with my Nexus and StickMount.
Has anyone used their external hdd? what was their battery impact compared with a normal usb?
Anybody got a car mount that's decent? Don't want a fugly looking Chinese windscreen mount!
what is the make/model of the external hard disk you have? I'm thinking about getting a portable external hard disk but someone on here said usb powered external drives don't work on the nexus 7.

Hmm, I sent in the following yesterday morning to G Play:
"As the refund has yet to appear, I just called and checked with my bank again - there has been no refund initiated, and Natwest confirm that I would have seen the refund almost instantly. Can you please escalate this as this has gone on for far too long now?
I know that you are not personally responsible, but I would like to raise a formal complaint that this is terrible service. I bought directly from Google thinking I would have a better customer service experience that had I bought from a third party. A 14 day internal Google turnaround for a simple check and refund is poor in this day and age, especially from an internet giant such as Google. The fact that a refund appears to have never been initiated even after the long wait for the 14 day period to expire just compounds the issue. As Google are no doubt aware, quality issues with the Nexus 7 are the subject of much discussion on the internet, however those that bought faulty devices from third party retailers have long since had their refunds/replacements. There is simply no excuse as to why buying directly from the manufacturer, Google, should result in a much poorer customer experience."
So far no response at all. When you say complained, did you complain directly through Google Wallet? I've done that also this morning after seeing your post.
If no response by mid afternoon, I'll kick off a chargeback. I discussed it with my issuing bank's chargeback team yesterday who stated there would be no problem, but it would be maybe 3 weeks' plus to complete. Ideally I'd like to get my money back this week if Google can pull their finger out.
