Argh. Not getting many decent drops however.

I've had 12 different rare plans drop in the last 4 hours.. 6 prop **** hammer etc, very very weird. Maybe I'm destined to be a crafter :/

Crazy. Had another 2 plans drop but nothing else decent..

Put your stats in here, or import them from the armoury: http://www.d3rawr.com/

It'll tell you what will give you the biggest boost in terms on DPS once you've calculated your DPS correctly. For example once I get my Skorn, adding +1% crit chance will give me near enough 1k dps, so a nice 4%+ ring will be a nice DPS upgrade for me.

Makes things a lot easier.

Thanks ive been waiting to get my hand on something like this!!

Same, I've had 2 6 prop plans today, previously I've never had anything better than 5 props.

Both only worth about 200k though :(

Drop timers much? ;)

+1 Primary attribute (Dex, Str, Int) 25.85

+1% Critical Hit Damage 89.71
+1% Attack Speed 522.7
+1-2 Damage from Armor 107
+1 Min/Max Damage 35.67

Calculator gave me that, so basically only attack speed and crit hit chance offer any big improvement which I already knew lol.

Yeah same, I just trained my blacksmith. I'll never really use them but for 100-200k I wasn't bothered. The 6 prop **** Hammer ( it stars the word haha ) is decent.. crafted one that came out with crit dmg and 1000dps

is anyone having success flipping items in the AH? Personally I like the idea of this and could happily spend a couple of hours trawling the market for bargains (I am a cheapskate in rl too). Because farming has not been very effective for me I have decided to see if it is possible to make a decent amount of gold trying this.

So far I have noticed that some items that I think are pretty good, and I have snapped at a cracking price (I hope), are just not selling, regardless of the price I set them at. The items I am mainly working on are amulets and rings (combinations of crit chance/crit hit/LoH/main stat/vitality/magic find) that should be worth about 1m+ compared to the 2m+ of similar items are just not going when I way undercut the market.

Do you think people are either saving gold for that amazing upgrade rather than spending it on the good upgrade or does everyone already have all their good upgrades sorted.

I think it's a combination of a shrinking player base and that those who are still playing have v good equipment now so it needs to be a monster upgrade to be worth it. For example I've played less than 200 hours myself, and to upgrade anything the starting price is probably 5m which I don't have. That's too much to gold farm cuz I'm not a bot, so relying on me finding something equally good to sell to raise the funds. And the chances of a drop worth 5m is so small that it's hardly worth playing any more.

And maybe I'm too old skool, but once I've beaten diablo in inferno what am I playing for? More paragon levels to get more MF to find more equipment to farm faster to find more equipment to farm faster etc???

Long story short, not many players. Getting bored with game.

I dont actively flip but I have bought items only to resell when I have stumbled across them.

As the average gear level goes up, people are more selective on what they will buy as an upgrade and anything else is going to gearing alts which people dont want to spend loads of cash on.

If you want to be a little more secure in your resale potential (but probably make less per item), make sure the items have some resistance as well. I wont buy anything that has no res at all (apart from quivers which cant have it, and my chest slot set item which cant roll both +disc and resistance)

Yeah I do check for that too but I find amulets/rings with resistances + any other stat tends to trigger people into over inflating their sales prices and they also seem to be rarer so less likely to grab a cheap bid only auction with 5 mins to go. I think people see all resist and see $/£ signs but I think more people don't realize the importance of crit chance or attack speed when they are selling something.

so far I have found amulets, rings and boots are ok sellers and even though I am building a stock of items that won't sell for what I consider good value I am still over 1m+ profit each day for the last 3 days. Aiming for 10m total by the end of the week and then I can look at slightly more expensive items for higher rewards (higher risk too though).

ok so been farming like made and made some good gold. Finding inferno act 2 tough at the moment. Any ideas what I should be improving?

If you're just going for a tank barb then you'll need around 1000 to all resistances when buffed. You should really be using War Cry with Impunity. Str, Vit & All Res items are very cheap at the moment, so you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Try keep a minimum of 40k health.

Your current DPS is pretty good and will get through champions & elites quite quickly in act 2, but you'll want to aim a bit higher for act 3.

What sort of barb are you after? Stand there and take the hits, or something else?

I'ed be happy with a Barb that can do act 2/3 without having to run away from some of the elites. I'll give war cry ago. What other skills are worth using?

Rend is pretty good now for damage over time. With your weapon it should be quite effective as it's based on weapon DPS.

Leap with Iron Impact for jumping out of enemies, it'll also boost your armour massively for a few seconds giving you time to run/pick up hp/take a pot

Revenge with Provocation so you can spam it while you're tanking stuff

Ignore Pain - reduces damage taken for 5 seconds, again for when you're surrounded or in trouble

Those are all pretty good. Have a play with Wrath of the Berserker as well. It basically makes you invincible while active.

you wont need 1000 resists, 700-800 buffed is enough tbh. thats what i had when i was tanky anyway.
try and get a cheap helm of command for the +block and maybe some crit. shield is ok but you can also get more block on others up to 28% iirc and also crit chance too.

get revenge/provocation, it is really good at keeping you up. use rend if you like it more though i couldnt get on with it.
swap boon of kul-kathos for ruthlessness too.
get the 100% damage on wrath of the berserker.
youll also want battle rage imo too, itll give a nice +30% dps with the right rune.
i like ignore pain/the rune that heals you for 20% damage done too, so the more dps you have the more itll heal you on the oh crap moments.

ive never ran from elites, even in act 4 with some of these skills/runes on :D

Swap passives to weapon mastery / Ruthless / Nerves
Try the following skills: Frenzy (sidearm), Revenge (Provocation), Rend (blood lust), Wotb (insanity), Battle Rage (marauders Rage), War Cry (Impunity)
Get more all resist
Try to find a shield with crit chance
Try to find rings/amulet with crit chance and crit damage

My barb (gear stripped now though) could farm act 2 very comfortably with 30k DPS (34% crit chance, 328% Crit damage) 700 buffed resists and 42k health with 1h+shield.

Well no because you have to take into account how much it'll cost you to get said upgrade. Per point, Critical Hit Chance is obviously the best but can you more easily get 1% more crit chance than you can 10% critical hit damage? Can you more easily get 1% attack rate or an extra 22 primary attribute?

1000 res is totally overkill I agree. Getting all res on everything just means you lose (or pay a premium) for extra stats that improve your damage like crit chance/damage. Don't forget that once you kill off an elites minions your health return from skills like Revenge and Furious Charge drop off massively when you can only hit a single target. Same goes for health return from Ignore Pains life steal rune, without the damage or the numbers you'll lose out on a lot of health. Once you get over 400 all res (before War Cry) I'd start worrying more about your health, damage and armour.

Sorry, cant look at your profile at work but I am going to assume you are geared similarly to how I was in Act 2 initially. I would be wary of just upgrading to make act 2 easier, this is what I did and then when I hit act 3 and died within 1 min even with my 700-800 res I though "oh no, got to upgrade everything again and I have no gold left".

I then decided to dump the shield, get a LoH/crit offhand weapon and boost my crit chance and damage with an Amulet (dont think I upgraded much else initially). With Rend and Revenge I found I didnt really need Ignore Pain anymore because of the massive healing you can get (especially in crowds as mentioned above). By the time you are left with only 1 elite or 1 champion you have already dealt them massive damage because of the Rend and Revenge attacks.

WOOP found a Skorn! :D

1319 DPS, 303 Dex (boo), 192 int, 135% Crit damage, open socket, 98% chance to bleed for 6.3k - 11k damage.

55k unbuffed DPS on my WD Now :D

Nice one!

I found 4 or 5 of them pre-patch when they were useless, of course now I never see them at all ;)
