Guild Wars 2

I got the game for around £35 but would have paid £50 it that's what it cost.

The fact is, for a no-subsciption mmo this is utterly fantastic. I can't see how they can provide this much quality so cheap.

I would even have paid monthly for it!

I paid £37 from GMG using the voucer, my missus paid the £50 today from anet, and tbh i dont think thats costly, specially when you consider theres no monthly subs etc.

I think anyone wanting to buy the game should fork our the 49.99 ANET are asking for its not that much and worth it to keep the developers in the go.... You'd be paying a whole lot more if it was subscription based and well worth the money imo

Just a quick couple of things:

Is it worth me saving my karma points for higher levels?
I'm a nearly level 40 Ranger and have amassed a quite impressive list of materials. What are the best recommended crafts for me? I currently have a limited amount of xp in Hunstman and Leatherworking. The two you would most logiacally choose for a Ranger, right?

Any help and advice on the two points above would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Yup, I would go with huntsman & leatherworker. That way you can make all the armour you require and most of your weapon combos ( warhorn, torch, long/shortbows and harpoon ). These tradeskills don't share too many materials either .... which can be an issue eg. armoursmithing with weaponsmithing both using a lot of metal ores.

With the leatherworking use cloth scraps & leather to skill up with, and skill up on wood and ore in huntsman tradeskill ( you can skill up on leather too with huntsman , but that will leave you short for materials to skill up with on the leatherworking ).

My main is a Ranger - just under lvl 60. I have no regrets choosing these tradeskills thus far. I've made alts to cover all the other tradeskills too .... and just slowly working my way through them .... it's not a race, but I do like to be self-sufficient !

Woah...second time in WvW and we just rolled Desolation on Gandara. Saw some folk from The Immortals and decided to pay them special attention as I've read/seen stuff about them on here! It's all one massive zerg though. Hopefully one day it'll be a little more tactical and a little less, well...dumb. :D

Trying to get enough wool to level up tailoring is driving me nuts, can't seem to find anywhere good to farm it :(

Trading post is your best friend. It might be worth farming the low level areas for copper ore, selling that at ~20 copper each and buying wool with the profit.

I was on there following the zerg around, got myself 5 levels with ease. I don't think people care at the moment because it resets every 24 hours afaik.

Im level 42, and apart from a little bit at the start, havent done any of my personel story.Do i have to do the story line, or can i just carry on leveling in different zones?

The story line quests can give a good chunk of XP, as well as some decent rewards at high levels.

Tried mesmer at the weekend, that's one odd/interesting class! Just not sure if I like it or not!! Probably doesn't seem as strange to people who played Guild Wars 1 :D

Seen quite a few of them around, they're just to much pink fairy dust and butterflies for me.
