DPD Delivery Drivers Are *****

DPD are great for me, always Mike around the same time.
It is Royal mail who are the idiots, just because I have a gate and a driveway they do a stop and run most of the time!
Thinking about taking the postbox down from the gate so they have to come to the house and I can catch them!

I don't doubt these stories or anyone who posts them about various couriers, I'm sure they are (mostly) true but I can't get my head round the fact that a driver will drive through traffic etc to a delivery address with the intention of posting a card through just to save that 1 minute off the whole delivery time including travel. It just seems so pointless. If there was a way they could cut out a few miles of driving to shorten their day and just say no one was in, then I could half understand it.

I don't understand it either but I've seen it happen with my own eyes.

I wish DPD would outsource all my Deliveries my last delivery was delivered by a random plain white van with not a DPD logo in sight on the driver and it was the first one in ages i actually received first try.

DPD Customer care may be good but their drivers are generally terrible, its about time they started docking wages for missed deliveries.

Its the same with all couriers it depends what depot you are close too,

The DPD drivers that deliver to me are spot on never ever had a problem always polite, always on time, and the ones i see around the city centre are top notch too.

Its a regional thing lol !

They probably won't be able to do that cos i suspect they pay most their drivers minimum wage anyway that's why they are so crap in most areas !

I get deliveries from DPD on a regular basis. To date they've not let me down. In fact had a delivery today, came in the hour window they said it would on the email.

Guess it depends on your area and the people working in it.

This. I don't understand why they would waste time walking up to a door to post a note rather than actually delivering the parcel...

I bet the wife was out, and then comes out with a story.

While I've never had a problem with DPD.
My usual driver looks depressed. He literally just throws me the parcel and the electronic device and off.

My Yodel driver however seems to be a fair bit better.

Indeed, our Yodel driver is around our Farm at least 3 times a week and never misses a delivery.

It's true though. Had RM do the whole post the card and not ring the doorbell trick before. How do I know, well I watched him do it. Delivered the mail, posted the card and off he went.

I phoned RM and they sent the bugger back with my parcel.

I'd be glad to get rid of it! Surely the postmans job would get easier as he/she/it delivers more stuff!

I like city link to best

They collect from me without me being there and drop it off without needing to sign.
Also I don't need to print a label. Which is useful as I don't have a printer

This is a thief's wet dream.

I must have interviewed hundreds of drivers over the years, about this sort of thing. Every one says the same thing.

"Why on earth would I go the trouble of finding an address, pulling up outside, and then NOT bothering to attempt a delivery?"

I sat and watched an RM driver do this a few months ago. Pulled up at the front of the house, right in front of the window. I was sat in the front room, watched him stop, fill out a card and post it through the letterbox. He had nothing else in his hand when he came to the door. (Unfortunately the **** wasn't too quick leaving and I stopped him before he drove off....but that is a different story).
