When you say stupid tab thing, do you mean the side bar which is used for multi tasking? Don't you just hold back for a few seconds to bring that up or get rid of it?

Galaxy Note II
£99 for the handset
£51/month (£40.80 after 20% line rental discount)
1200 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB data, 2GB BT Openzone
12 month contract
£50 cashback through Quidco

I'm quite tempted. I've got an aversion to 24-month contracts now - my current contract started at £25/month, but with T&C changes and price plan increases my bills are now £35-£40 each month. I was planning on buying SIM-free and going SIM-Only, but 12 months isn't too much of a commitment and the price is just silly (£538.60 for the whole contract - the Note 2 alone is £529.99 on Amazon).

How can I get tv catch up working it says requires flash but then play store says my device isn't compatible

Yeah it sounds like you are referring to the side bar which is for multi tasking and one of the best features of this device. See this short video:

To get rid of the side bar hold the back button for a few seconds, that is also how to bring it up.

OT but is there any way to check if a mobile phone you have purchased in on a contract? My friend is looking to sell the Note 2 he picked up for £320 but what if it gets barred. It makes no sense for anyone to sell it that cheap when you get easily get another £100 for it. He has a receipt from the shop so should it ever get barred he can take it back but it would be a hassle if he sold it to someone else.

Why would it get barred? non payment of contract?

From what i believe this wont happen as the phone is classed as a free gift.

Or the person may just decide to report it lost or stolen? Reason I am wary is because the shop sold it to him for £320 when they could have got around £450 quite easily. Would be worth checking if it is on a contract if that's at all possible.

This is the phone from the 2nd hand shop, right? I guess the only issue might be if it's been stolen, sold to the 2nd hand shop and eventually the original owner (maybe a shop) realises it's gone and tracks down the IMEI number?

I would think it very unlikely though?
