All I do is game on my PC, so don't see any point in upgrading. Can see me having windows 7 for a while.
If it's just a glorified games console then yeah you're right, there's little point. You might as well put the money towards another game.

Until i see an improvement in performance with Games
NO
This.
But I hope valve bring out their games on linux then I can ditch windows.
To give Windows 8 it's dues, gaming performance is identical to that on Windows 7.

Identical does not equal an improvement.
That depends. You're comparing a mature OS with an RTM version that is still getting up to speed on drivers. Being identical at this stage bodes well for Windows 8.
Fair enough. It's just that some people seem to think it's the holy grail of gaming when it really isn't as simple as porting a few games over.
If Asus release GOOD motherboard drivers for Windows 8 I'll consider taking the leap, Storage Places could be nice if they sort out performance problems with it etc.
there is a Windows 8 Pro N and Windows 8 Pro pack N

under windows
someone was asking why theres no "N" versionAnd? You would be mad to buy an inferior product for the same price. Stupid EU rulling.
Is it worth it for my missus? She browses, uses Facebook, does work e-mails etc, no gaming at all just general usage. She still has XP.
