Google Music

If you upload Flac files then they will get transcoded to 320 mp3 anyway so if your bandwidth is limited transcode them yourself which will save on the upload time

I'm still having issues with songs over 20 minutes, I'm hoping that thing like this will be sorted when or should that be if this service ever gets a uk launch

How does google music get the album art? Ive uploaded a few tracks and I would like clear crisp album art for the nexus 7 play store widget, but at the moment they are blurry and look crap!

Also...When will we get the magazine app?! I want it badly!

If Google are going to transcode the lossless files to 320kbps MP3 why not do that part yourself so when you're uploading your not uploading the much larger file sizes.

Hi all.

I listened to a few albums at work today. Sounded really good. Now I just need to root my Nexus S and get a Voodoo Sound kernel to make it sound even better!

I would transcode myself but I haven't got the space on my hard drive for another load of music files. I may as well get Google to transcode them for me from my FLAC files.

I would have thought any transcoding would be done my end by Google Music Manager before being sent to Google Cloud?? I started sending my iTunes folder (AAC) before restarting it and pointing to my FLAC folder and I have seen no difference in upload speed.

Cheers.

I went back to the US play store and searched for the Google Music app and then selected the device I wanted it downloaded too.

Quick question:

Is there any way of stopping Google Music from reading the content on my SD card?

It's currently got a mix of the stuff I've uploaded using the music manager and then all of my music on my SD card.

I don't imagine this to be a problem when I get my Nexus 7 as I intend to purely stream from it, but as it stands on my S3, it looks a mess.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

^funny I can't get Google music to read anything on my phone apart from what I upload to Google Music...

BTW, you guys are aware Google Music and Movies is coming to EU next month!?
OH and it always comes with an "iTunes Match" type feature :D

People are right, its very simple to get going but finding the right proxy or vpn isnt easy!

Finally had the chance to use a works vpn to pass all traffic though, and after logging in downloading the music app. I was set to go.

If you've having issues, just pay for a months trial with some vpn service.
