I was testing the S-Pen on this against my mates Note and we both agreed this was much better. On the Note II it felt slightly better calibrated and the pen felt better in the hand with it being slightly longer and wider. You could also write more naturally with it, like the way you normally hold a pen at a slight angle, whereas on the Note you had to hold it more upright. Not tried any sketching yet...
mines only lasted 7h and 46 mins so far with 43% battery left, which by all means is still brilliant but i think im gonna let the battery drain and then give it a good 20hr charge.
anyway, has anyone tried any sketching on this thing yet?
here is one i have half done so far

i must say the the drawing capabilities on this thing are a lot better than the original note however there is still a slight calibration like on the note were if the pen is near the edges of the screen or along the sides you can see the point is abit above where the pen is actually pointing.
My only other issue I've had is with screen brightness. I've elected to turn off the auto setting but I notice it adjusting itself, particularly when using the mail application for exchange mail. It's very dark and I struggle to see it sometimes.
The battery life is amazing. It lasts almost 2 days for me (~7 hours screen time) with normal use.
Bit of a two week update from me.
Still love it, and definitely still the best phone i've ever had. I still think i've yet to get the best out of it though.
I've come to the Note 2 after 3 iPhones and I try my best to be an impartial, un-fanboyish user of anything I buy and appreciate things for their strengths and weaknesses. Bottom line is that I don't regret the swap at all. I can't see myself ever going back to Apple now.
A few niggles have reared their head though (as they always do). I've noticed some issues with wifi compared to my iPhone 4. Namely wireless networks dropping occasionally, particularly at home when in bed - it's very hit and miss. Never had this with the iPhone - it has to be said. Obviously there is a raft of things it could be but I'm just comparing like for like.
Another issue with wifi is that I work in a very large building with a comprehensive wifi infrastructure which I manage myself, and this phone doesn't handle traversal to different AP's as well. Commonly will switch to other SSID's I have creds from as the "signal is stronger" yet all AP's are broadcasting the same networks. Again, a minor niggle.
My only other issue I've had is with screen brightness. I've elected to turn off the auto setting but I notice it adjusting itself, particularly when using the mail application for exchange mail. It's very dark and I struggle to see it sometimes.
Aside from that, great phone, great battery life - love it.
EDIT: Currently using a suede suncase slip case from Germany which does the job if being a little loose - if I was to hold it upside down it would eventually slip out despite being latched. Will try and get a photo later. Has anyone's Nillfisk case arrived yet?
Such an epic business phone and I dont know what voodoo magic Samsung have weaved with this device but I wanna say thank you![]()
The voodoo magic is a considerably large battery![]()
What app did you use to make that drawing?
So the mythical T-mobile text about the Note2 never appeared. I'm shocked and amazed...![]()
Nothing here either. Will be interesting to see how many of the "limited number" of LTE devices they do claim to have will actually ship today. But if she was wrong about the text...
I've no idea what powelly2010 used to make their picture, but I grabbed WaterColor Pencil from the Samsung App store. It's free has loads of different brushes and pens, and is pressure sensitive. Unfortunately my art skills are very bad so I can't utilize half of it's potential, but you should check it out if you're after an art package.
I thought I read that the original Note came with a version of photoshop. Is this true and is it still available?
