Windows 8 who's buying/upgrading

I can't see this working now, had really thought ms would have sorted this kind of crap by now.
They have successfully f'ed me right up now.

If you don't have the patient and don't know what's happening, why did you try installing before info or even release.

If its gone totally **** up, just reinstall windows7 or what ever you have and before you do anything else install w8.

Make sure you have no USB drives in etc, unless your installing from one.

Oh... btw it thinks I'm in Wakefield, Leeds... not sure why and how I can change this to Leicestershire!

Becuase it doesn't have a GPS chip like mobile devices and usually goes on IP address which depending on ISP can locate you pretty much anywhere.

Why do you need to change or even need it?
If weather apps and similar just go in, top right corner for charm bar, settings and change it.

I had to remove MSE too. Presumably it has its own version built in or do I need to go and get some protection myself?

None of what you have said makes a lot of sense sorry, but when you have NOTHING to go on but a blank nlack screen and then faced with messages on boot up that it didnt install correctly, exactly how have I done anything wrong?

Buit yes, now thanks to the botched restore W7 is up the left now, so it looks like I have no choice but to now format and reinstall W7 so I can update to W8, assuming thats even going to work now.

What were you updating from, have you got the literature on how to update etc, probably not as we aren't many to be downloading for any pother two hours.

Just reinstall windows and get on with it. Is it annoying yes, is it end of the world? No.

I had win7 cd on standby. As we were all guessing.

My Win7 to Win8 Pro upgrade went almost perfect,it did not find my Canon Pixma iP4500 Printer(USB) ,switched it on and still nothing ,guess its a driver issue or something, worked ok in Win7 x64 so pretty weird issue, trying to solve it now.

D'oh

Missed out on all the fun.

The Windows website has been taking off "coming soon"

and the dropbox link with the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant is showing 404.

Can it be deleted ?

I wouldn't just delete it no.

Check in the add / remove windows features to see if youve got iis selected as an active feature.

Perhaps iis was active in your old os, so w8 upgrade did the same, it's not normally active by default.

I take it you don't normally use your pc as a web server, or you installed web development software?

Either that or you got anything involving web sharing, like a printer perhaps?

I fixed it by downloading the drivers for Win7 x64 and the Canon software run the repair diagnostic, fixed the issue so minor blimp as they say :) .
