<~~~~(NEW NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED CONFIRMED)~~~~>

What system are you playing it on? I've read it's poorly optimised on PC and often dips in FPS.

This game is getting a complete slating in the PC thread, but when you delve through the ranting the reasons seem to be due to a shoddy PC port with laggy controls and juddering graphics, and because most of them seem surprised that its like Burnout and not like NFS Underground.

You only have to look at the box art to realise that this is not a game that continues on in the style of the NFS games of the last decade. Those people who have picked up this game understanding that it has closer links to Burnout Paradise than to any recent NFS games, and importantly have played it on a console, seem to be producing much more balanced reviews.

My copy should arrive tomorrow. As long as it is Burnout with real cars I will be happy. I like mindless fun and crashing cars...

This is my view on it too. I liked Burnout Paradise. I haven't like any NFS games since... well.... the last most wanted.

I don't see the problem with this being 'like Burnout'.

I can understand people being disapointed if they pick it up expecting it to be just like NFS Underground with Forza physics, but thats an issue to do with their lack of understanding of the game, not with the game itself.

Whats yor PSN ID Moogleys (assuming your getting it on PS3), I'll add you.

Hot Pursuit was excellent.

I think the last NFS game I played was on the PS2... it had police in it, was there a Hot Pursuit on PS2?

Actually I lie - I've played about 20 mins of Shift 2 because it was free on PS+

From what I've heard over on Giant Bomb, the worst parts of this game are actually the Need for Speed parts. Apparently the cops add absolutely nothing to the game and there's no real punishment for being busted, in fact you actually unlock certain accomplishments for being busted a certain amount of times. Everything I've seen and read points to this being a spiritual successor to Burnout Paradise, some of the NFS elements dilute the offline experience but the online is meant to be one of the most streamlined, fun experiences in an arcade racer since Paradise, and that's fine by me.

I'll be picking it up tomorrow morning btw, so I'll add the PS3 players. :)

Yep the online just looks so much fun from what I've seen - we should try and get a group of us online for races/stunts/whatever. I'll picking the game up tomorrow on the way to work but probably won't get chance to play too much (if at all) tomorrow, will be on loads over the weekend though.

If you don't like the game why are you still in the thread commenting on every post?

I will finish the game and share opinions on it regardless if I like the game or not thanks :) this is a discussion forum right?

Have you even played the game? And I never said I do not like the game either.

Had a blast last night, seems OK, found loads of cars. Not a massive fan of the handling if I'm honest. It's nowhere near as good as hot pursuit.

Took me about 15 minutes to lose the police, they know where you are even after losing them and hiding, it's annoying.

I trolled them for ages to get up to heat level 6, then spent ages trying to get rid of them, dropped down to level 2 but got spotted again, and then got busted after being plowed into a wall by a SWAT truck, lol. I actually find it quite reassuring that in a game called Most Wanted the police are not that easy to get away from.

The handling is going to take a bit of getting used too. Its not the sideways everywhere of Hot Pursuit, it has a bit more finese to it. There is also some real differences between the cars. The Caterham 7 and the Atom stop really quickly and don't slide to much. You also get nerfed off really easily in them. While bigger cars like the Marussia are more planted.

Its good fun.
