The lack of notification centre is a bit of a pain actually. Interestingly, coming in from IOS I really find that I miss it, despite the fact that I never used it on the Iphone. I think this is because in apps (especially facebook), it is not always obvious what the badge relates to - this could just be a case of getting used to the apps, but I'm not sure.

I also came from iOS - I can see what you mean about missing it now it's gone, it was pretty handy when a text/email popped up on the lock screen. But conversely, I always hated it when the lock screen got full of notifications, looked messy and I rarely read what was on there.

With the 920, say you've got a couple of messages, half a dozen emails and some fb notifications, you can see that you have them on the lock screen, and it doesn't make a mess.

mwahaha. I got the only one this morning from p4u in red before it was unavailable again.
i hope i get mine. they didnt say anything yet apart from "we are waiting for checks for you which will take 24 hours and there is no delay for the red lumia 920"...

Do they have it in white?
Also where can i buy another cheap mains charger for it and a USB charge cable for work?

I have a brand new one in white, that i got with my 920 2 days ago.

I'm looking for someone to trade with for a black one, but if i cant im willing to sell it if your interested?

i wish there was a way of checking your online order from p4u. its funny, every other website has a way of checking your order except p4u. they live in stone age!

ok so just read this on the p4u site:

Please be aware this handset will only work with Orange, T-Mobile & EE sim cards

damned if you do, damned if you dont. was after the red... ordered it but also ordered yellow from cyberport but they wont have it until late this week and no idea if I would get that order or not which is unlocked/sim free unlike p4u.

so no work around for p4u "sim free" phones....

The 8x could never do a video recording in a club with such great sound as the 920

That is extremely impressive. In fact, it's hard to describe just how impressive that it. No noise, no blur, picks up the strobe flashes without washing out, audio is excellent. Wow, really impressed. There is no way I could achieve those results with either the HOX or iP4S I have.

I don't think I could achieve those results even with a prosumer digital camera.
Seriously considering one of these phones once the sim-lock rubbish is sorted out.

I suppose I could stick Windows 8 on my Mac using Bootcamp.
Or virtualisation software such as Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion or VirtualBox.

However, there might be problems using software such as Nokia Software Updater, Nokia Suite, Nokia Care Suite, NSS, Phoenix etc. I had problems with some of the connectivity drivers acting temperamentally when connecting a couple of older Nokia handsets to Windows 7 Pro as a Guest OS in Parallels Desktop 5 (admittedly, a slightly older version).

Already have Win7 on parallels, it crawls along. My laptop is over 4 years old now and so it's not exactly cutting edge. Getting another Macbook pro would have been a no brainer a while back but not so sure now. I think I actually need both an OSX machine and a Windows machine now :)

I bet the Nexus 4 can't do that either, you really do get what you pay for :)

that clove can get it simfree/unlocked (white) yet p4u which has white is "locked"?! how the hell does that work?

and clove is expensive for sim free

Probably a grey import from Europe or some other source. Maybe they change the charger over for a UK one? Or perhaps Nokia sold them a few to alleviate all of the negative publicity the EE deal has generated.

I think the £459 price at Phones4U is slightly discounted for being SIM locked like PAYG phones are. I think £500 is closer to the true price. When you see the impressive video recording and all the other features why would you expect this phone to be cheap?

Clove now says "WHITE STOCK - SOLD OUT". I hope those who ordered last night got lucky. :(

I have had no email from them other than the initial thanks for the order and summary. I ordered around 9 yesterday evening.

How long after do they send you an email if your getting it???
