You can edit the system/etc/default_gain.conf file to increase volumes. You'll need to be rooted for access. The file linked below is two I've edited, nominal and a max versions. Any higher than the max values and things start to distort. Rename the file, save a copy of the original and copy over, then reboot.

Didn't see it wasn't tempered! And I thought it was :/
To be fair, I was wondering what people were complaining about-the ones who got the tempered glass one and claimed that the s-pen didn't work well with it!

There are later builds, LJ3/LJA get used for custom roms, but LJ1 is the latest BTU (UK) build.

Interesting. My spen was playing up. Was too sensitive and click things when hovering. Smacking it flatly on the desk cured it. I'm not the only one to find this:

Oh no we are, it's just that if you are rooted you'd have to flash it manually via Odin. I'm also on LJ1 at the moment, and I'm rooted so I'll be updating manually soon.

Ah OK. What is the new build version? My auto update was on so perhaps mine has already done it and I've just dismissed the notification without paying attention.

Do Samsung have their own update checking software installed on the Note II? My auto update check is disabled in the Android menu yet i still had the notification come through.
