My connection speed is awful , and my laptop is superb but the nexus 7 is terribly slow , it gets 1Mbs link speed , even though the signal strength is "good" , my laptop gets 300Mbs in the same place! not happy!

is there anyway to improve the speed? it only increases to 11Mbs right next to my router!

something is not right...

The nexus 7 can do 802.11n so either 65mbp or 150mbp. i also recently used it on 5ghz 802.11n so it has an up to date network interface.

have you tried resetting the nexus 7 to stock and then try the internet again? also what are you using to test the speed?

Nexus 7 only has a single antenna, so 65mb/s is the best you will see.

It also only supports 2.4 GHz networks.

i think thats wrong as my nexus 7 found the 5ghz network on my n55u adsl router.

I just started following the nexus 7 when popping into HMV to kill time. Quick question.
Why don't you buy the non 3g version, OTG and a dongle. Would it not work out cheaper. Sure it might look ugly.

Not yet but got it on the N10 and others have started to receive it.

It fixes the December calendar bug. Not sure if anything else is included.

It looks as if some Nexus 7 users have received it already also.

Many people are reporting that the 4.2.1 update has made the Nexus 7 less laggy than when 4.2 hit. But yes, main reason was for the December bug. Not that I noticed it was missing from mine.
