Had a strange issue just now. Joined a server, on the weapon loadout menu, no equipment was showing up, i could scroll through the list but no weapon image appeared. Proceeded to join the game anyway, no weapon model on screen just crosshairs. Decided to quit but the game then froze, ctrl alt-del didnt help so had to do a hard reset. Anyone else seen this happen.

EDIT: Joined another server, got in and was able to kit up properly, joined the game fired a few shots, weapon dissapeared again. Followed by the same as above when trying to quit.

repair install maybe
 
Seems that was the case Dg, ak and cq expansions both required updates, at first cq stated a 2.8gb dl, repair install worked fine on that one in seconds. Ak on the other hand when selecting repair requires a 3.7gb dl. Almost done now.

The release notes said something about being able to download it "no later" than the 4th. So while this leaves this possibility open, they won't. I mean come on..it's EA...They don't do "making sense" even if I do think BF3 is one of the best games of all time and most people who moan about are talking toffee.

Just look at Close Quarters DLC, where else can you get that close quarters madness with all that destruction, COD NOPE! I think all the map packs are good although I do prefer Vanilla and CQ for infantry with AK and BTK for armour or heli's. Armoured shield + Viper + Awesome team = sooo much fun.

There is no game (no not even PS2) that comes close to this game in terms of variety. There are so many ways to play it's mind boggling.

[IMPORTANT] Update Close Quarters and Armored Kill on PC

In preparation for our next release, Aftermath, we are rolling out some updates on PC that are affecting Close Quarters and Armored Kill. Thanks to the delivery system Origin provides, all users should get these updates automatically.

We have noticed that under some circumstances the download is interrupted which can cause issues when trying to play your existing content. If this happens please follow the steps below to re-synchronize the files on your hard drive with those on the Origin servers

Pre load, nah that would be too simple for dice/ea to comprehend. If theres a hard way of doing something, theyll find it in an instant.

After downloading the 3.7gb update for ak, still getting the same issue. When i click repair, it wants to dl the whole 3.7gb again. Hitting repair on cq literally takes seconds and when completed it says it's upto date.

I am having strange problem with origin.

Every time I open it up, it crashes my internet connection. Upon signing out of origin, my internet connection is restored lol. :confused:


Edit: More specifically when I click on BF3 window icon in origin, that's when problem starts while the game is trying to load battlelog.
 
Have you repared the install for ak and cq, there were updates released that caused all sorts of issues yesterday if you hadnt got them.
 
In origin, right click on the bf3 icon, click show game details, scroll down to the expansions, right click on armored kill and select repair install, youll have to do the same for cq. Cq takes literally minutes, ak is a 3.7gb download.

I only had the option of repair install. So it just repair installed my whole game file (22GB) and found no errors etc. The game seems to be working fine now :)
 
Mine shows as 24.8gb, though perhaps theres different install sizes according to wether you use disk or download. This was the case with bfbc2.
