Cheers InQ, picked up 3 pairs from Cycle Surgery price matching bikes you like :)

1 for work, play and the other for the old man who has been bitten hard by the cycling bug and since I got him the Canyon MTB. He now has more bikes than me :p

I also noticed two of the MTB magazines have some wool gloves free on the cover at £4.35 but look a bit thick to be suitable for under gloves.

just come home from work and went out just before it was too dak to ride, thought id get 30 mins in to practice cleats, and i normal step over the bike with my right leg, but to unclip im the opposite, i find it far easier to unlcip on my right foot than my left, i guess i have more strength in the my right leg or becuase im right handeded (and footed) its just easier

looking forward to my ride tommorow. im leaving the house at half 8

Am I the only one who always unclips his left foot, due to using the kerb to stand on at most junctions? Even if I stop while taking the lane it's still always my left foot.

You're not the only one, though we seem to be in the minority; almost every other cyclist I've seen unclips on the right first. I do it because I find it easier to set off by pressing down my dominant (i.e. right) leg. It's also good for using the kerb as you say. I don't suppose it really makes any difference, as long as you can get out of one side in a hurry :)

well, thats the thing, if i have to stop at a juction tommorow, my left foot will be still cliped in! so its going to feel strange when i have to move off again without push the pedal with my right foot first!

left here too.. well unclip no but take my foot out of the mini clips lol.. :) and i always use my left foot to stand when at junctions/crossings etc.. left handed too

I'm a right un-clipper and I'm left handed. Any correlation?

Likewise, i'm left handed/footed, but unclip on the right.

But i also play guitar right handed. And golf. But write with my left.

Actually, maybe i'm just weird...

Edit:
Complete change of topic:
Been having some problems with my right knee on and off the last couple of months, and suspect it's a bike/cleat fit issue. Anyone know of a decent place to get a bike fit done in Scotland?

I'm in Hamilton, but can get into either Glasgow or Edinburgh easy enough. It seems quite a costly thing to do, so would rather go somewhere on someone's recommendation if possible.

I think alpinebikes can do a bike fit. I dont know if thats for people buying new bikes or if you can just go along and get it done.

talking of winter can someone talk brake pads to me?
I noticed today that mine are worn down to the nubs so I took them off to see whats what and
a) now I don't know which way they go back on
b) I still don't know what to get
c) really wish I'd left them alone.

they look like this (but black and the pads not got those grooves anymore)
