As far as Tannis goes, that is way off the mark. The quests for Tannis in Borderlands 1 where you recover her Echo Logs clearly show how her slow descent into insanity. She loses all sense of emotion after watching her colleagues die and the isolation makes her lose it.

It does seem very unlike Jack to have let Tannis live but he does claim it to be mercy even if it was a little twisted.

Forgot that about Tannis!

However,someone asked Gearbox on twitter about what happened to Angel's mother. They would not confirm she was killed or not,even though the implication is there in the Echo logs,but its not fully certain.

Not regarding Handsome Jack or even the connection with Sirens and the vaults. If you go over to the Gearbox forums there are a lot of threads debating their origins. There are a lot of questions which have not been answered.

Yes but Valve do that all the time. Look at the Pyro in TF2. They've refused to say whether 'it' is male or female and then just carried on with that trend making it ambiguous as possible just to wind people up who really want an answer. Its safe to assume she's dead until such a time Gearbox decide to elaborate on it in some bizarre fashion in a DLC. The motivations of Jack are still really unclear. Including why he randomly changed him name from John and why he was a 'hideous little code monkey'.
 
Started playing this last night with a mate and hit and reached level 13. Really enjoying it so far; can get a little hectic in places though!

i'd wait before getting far cry 3, it gets a great review but i keep noticing something :- ``the game is repetative``

i've seen this mentioned loads of times, i'll read the reviews first before deciding

Handsome Jack was a Hyperion programmer called John. He had the mask on already when he was at Hyperion and it seems his wife either disappeared or died. It seems The Warrior is a failsafe in case The Warrior was let lose,as it is activated by Eridium,which spread though the planet after the first vault was opened. I suspect the weapon the The Eridians used against The Destroyer was The Warrior.

Have you noticed the Cult of the Vault challenges?? It does make me think Handsome Jack might be linked to this.

Another aspect,Handsome Jack spared Tannis after he got the key?? It seems out of character for him,so I do wonder if Tannis,is linked with him someway?? She is obviously crazy,cannot handle people and interested in The Eridians,so I wonder if she is actually the mother of Angel,and was driven crazy when she was younger by her??

Have you also noticed how Sirens are important to open the vaults in both games?? It indicates that The Eridians seem to have some influence too.

Also,Handsome Jack does appear to love his daughter despite what he did to her,and maybe in his own twisted way he thought he was saving her??

whatever, he's deffo a robot of sorts, i saw underneath his mask it was semi ripped off, he looked like Terminator, his whole face was like this.

after all, it isn't sewn in place to existing skin is it, it has hinges and clips instead, with a gap all around

because without blood vessels etc his skin would die like Leatherface, it's synthetic skin over a Robot..... the back of his synthetic head including his hair, is latched onto his face via clips.

maybe the original Jack died after becoming boss !!!!! and was replaced by a robot a week later.

if i'm wrong, what about his metal face underneath then? well maybe his existing face was destroyed by gunfire or an accident etc; and the front part of his skull was remodelled in steel...... :D:D
