***The Official LG Nexus 4 Thread***

I think the most surprising thing coming from my Desire HD is that Android seems to have actually lost some features! Ones I've notices so far:

Syncing Facebook pictures to contacts (I know why, it still sucks)
Setting music as ring tones - You used to just be able to long press music in the player and set it as ring tone but this seems to have gone! Now you have to copy files into the ringtone folder which is just awkward.

hardly key features, i set everyone of my contacts a picture using mainly my 500+ wedding snaps in gmail, took most of the afternoon, but was at work... looks amazing now, 90% were high res as well

Camera samples

Some shots that I've taken, in different lights and scenarios. Only adjustments were resizing them to fit forum rules (and edit out license plates).

So I think mine might be dead! :(

Turned it off with approx 15% charge still left, and it refused to switch on this morning. I am charging it now, but the screen hasn't come on to indicate it is being charged, and it's refusing to turn on using the power button.

Any ideas?

How long did you press the button for? Hold it down till you see the boot screen.

Found out this weekend that my car charger doesn't charge the Nexus 4. When plugged in it keeps constantly flicking between Not charging/Charging (USB0/Charging (AC). As a result, not only does it not charge properly but it doesn't sleep.

The charger is standard and works fine with my HTC One X and the girlfriend's SGS. Any ideas, or anyone else experienced the same?

Was very annoying seeing as I was driving to Yorkshire and 10 minutes up the M5 I lost my sat nav.

this is not uncommon, they all require slightly different power. my ebay car charger jobby would charge my htc desire, with the SGS2 it would maintain the power and my GN i would not maintain or charge.

Update on my speaker issue (I can't hear people unless I use loudspeaker) a replacement should be coming this week. Fair play Google have been really good. They will be sending out a replacement and then I've got to send mine back.

What cable are you using? I've had the situation where myself and most of my friends can charge fine in my car but two friends couldn't. Using a different cable fixed the problem.

/edit - could be my charger is marginal on voltage/current and one cable provided slightly lower losses.

One thing I forgot to mention as well was that I was very disappointed to see the 3.5mm jack at the top. My HOX was like this too but my phone before (Desire HD) had the MicroUSB and 3.5mm both at the bottom which made complete sense.

I find it awkward to put my phone in my pocket whilst listening to music when the port is at the top, and when I'm using it in the car it looks like a spaghetti monster with the USB coming out one end and the 3.5mm the other.

Using the supplied Google cable. I've arranged a replacement with Google. To be fair to them, it couldn't be a simpler solution.

My new Nexus 4 should be dispatched today, and I just send the knackered one back, free of cost using Carrier pick-up. I did think it got very hot when playing 720p films...so maybe that has killed it!
