I've heard that the JB update has brought up a few issues. I take it battery drain is one of them?
It doesn't seem to affect everyone though. I did a hard rest of mine to try and sort the battery drain and even with everything as stock with no apps on there the Sense launcher was consuming 35% of my battery.

Intriguing but not surprising given how many quirks android has...
So what are the pros of the One X over the S3? Bear in mind I will probably root and install custom ROMs so Touchwiz vs Sense is moot.

For the one series, anything but sense based ROMs can't use the dedicated image chip. The dedicated image chip brings many advantages over other phones that don't have a dedicated chip for the camera.
Although supposedly the developers have got the image chip of the one series working for ROMs based on stock android now, I think CM 10 has it fully working so the camera should be as good as it is on sense based ROMs, well for the S it is anyway.
EDIT:
Might actually be wrong about that, don't think it works, could have sworn that I read it was working, but like the sense widgets etc. you need the sense framework etc. in order for it to work.

I've seen a video on youtube but has anyone on these forums actually replaced their battery on a One X?
I was tempted to unlock mine and install custom roms again but thought id wait for official JB first, starting to get a little bored so might just do it for ARHD, ive had the phone about a month or so now (2nd one x

Any one X or X+ owners fancy the Hard Shell HC C790 case? , released for the One X+ but sure it'll fit the One X also.

None of the new JB based roms are much cop to be honest other than stock.
I was running ViperX for ages and it was really, really excellent. Other on here ran that rom too with good results.
Will have a look, be nice to finally have JB.

Stock jelly bean is a rolling out now for more devices, still loss to go though.
I am getting very frustrated on installing a ROM. Its most likely very simple, but I'm being so thick.
Do I need to do it via fastboot, clockwork mod, dev tools. Some other way?
How many ways is there, or are they all used together? Is there an idiots guide out there?
