Wasteland ARMA II Mos : Server Details

I didn't realise your server was a 75 slot one. Does it get a bit hectic with that many people? I know having 40ish people on dayz namalsk is crazy with snipers everywhere!!!
 
Actually, not that hectic!

Chernarus is awfully big.. It can go mental when the bases are being attacked/defended and when there are good missions on the go!


Now in the top 5 ARMA servers :)
 
Base attacks in wasteland are one of the most atmospheric experiences I have had in gaming. It's like being in Syria or Lebanon, especially when you are attacking a base in Cherno or one of the other large towns.

It can get a bit crazy at times, but I wouldn't ever compare it to DayZ.

Here, it gets brilliant the more crazy it gets. Sure, it's great having a little infantry combat, a couple of people. But it gets so much better when a column of vehicles then roll in to cause mayhem :D
 
Or when you drive your armoured SUV through one of the airfield, pumping your horn and shots come at you from all angles, you're sitting there all nice and comfy thinking, noobs don't know I'm in an armoured SUV..

Then you just have enough time to see the smoke trail as the laws missile heads towards you :)

been getting back into a lot of warfare BE lately (CTI), had a full retard moment sitting in an M1 earlier - saw someone fire a metis (i think) at me from about 2000m away. I saw the smoke trail stop about halfway and thought - 'oh its out of range' so I stopped retreating back behind my rock. Then at the last second I saw the actual missile still coming towards me... boom :(
 
EDIT - I broke something. Reverted to old mission. Will fix in the morning.

New version is ready to go. Will reboot server and upload now so hopefully we can get some testing during the day to make sure I haven't broken anything (very likely I have as I did this at 0100).

NO thermal weapon script
No shooting within 200m of a gun-store
Random helicopter spawning

BluFor are ALL BAF
OpFor are ALL Insurgents
The AI at missions are no longer priests. They have different Guerilla models

I took the 2 civilian planes out. Hardly anyone can fly them so they last about 2 minutes. Not worth it.

I might sneak them in later today! No idea what I have done. The spawning has borked so will fix it when I have had some sleep!

Old mission is back up now.
 
Seems like changing the weapons that are available at the Gun-Store really messes things up. Going to have to have a harder look at this.
 
Lots of people apparently getting under 10fps on this new version :s

I definitely noticed a lower frame rate. No where near as bad as what other people are reporting. I will mess around with how many vehicles/props spawn on the next restart.
 
Melbo the background you made with the server rules etc, where you getting the player model textures in picture format? I fancy making a new sig for on here. So was going to mess about with photoshop.
