It's actually some joke name I used to call people in high school (and get called in return). When choosing my online name I just tried to think up the dumbest name I could. Sadly I was then stuck with it for the next ~15 years.

You are wrong :p That has happened to some people but I requested my name change and it was done as a favour by a very nice don :)
 
You're half way there with your thread title, throwing random capital letters in makes you look 'kool'.
 
My ingame name is Naarox which is just a anagram of my IRL name with an x on the end. Sounded pretty good so it stuck :D

I think it's more likely that the OP thought that it was correct to use title-like capitalisation in a thread title.

I have used the same 3 names for everything I have ever played. They all have some kind of history behind them, but I can't quite remember 2 of them. My forum name is from a sketch that I particularly like
 
Anyone remember Prime Computers ? It was like a mini mainframe computer of the 70's, 80's and start of the 90's. We had one at college linked to a load of dumb terminals. We asked our tutor if you could play games on them to which she shrieked of course not that was unheard of. So the next lesson we had where we could write any program of our choice everyone proved her wrong and wrote games. I wrote a type of Arkanoid game and I called it ArtyVark because the bat was an Ardvark (sensible of course) and from that I got my user/game name Varkanoid. Mainly because its easy to use as no one else will have it.
 
In single player I don't like to use my own name, and generally opt for one of my favourite fictional characters: Gully/Gulliver Foyle, Kilgore Trout, Toru Okada, etc.

I rarely (almost never) play MP these days, but when I did I was always Intercourse The Penguin (taken from the Monty Python sketch because whilst it was said as an alternative to (ahem) screw the penguin, I always thought it sounded like a good name for a penguin...).
 
My name came from the TV program "Michael Owen's Soccer Skills" :eek:

I thought it was funny at the time that he kept calling Neville Southall "Big Nev"

Around this time I setup my Hotmail account and various other accounts for websites all of them in the name Bignev of some variety or another.

Since then it has kind of stuck and now is my player name for most games.

Kind of a weird reason :D

dunc = duncs = dunk = dunks = dunksyo

It evolved due to the previous version already being taken by someone :p
 
I use Madcat after the mech or Angrymog if Madcat is taken. Occaisionally I've had to go for Madcat_Angrymog when both were gone.

Vaguely related, but username here is the title of my old Ultima Online character.
