Sorry, I think you meant to say 'people who haven't been grinding act 3 on 1 character for 100s of hours' or there abouts. I've not been playing non-stop since release but much of my time has been spent actually playing the game on different characters as well as investing heavily on 2 different characters rather than repeatadly running act 3 over and over and over.

I know its a generalisation, but I'm fairly sure you'd be hard pressed to find someone in this thread who has epic gear and has also actually played more than 2 or 3 characters since release, or more than 1 since the introduction of Paragon levels.

Evilsod - since you seemed to have played most of the chara which one do you consider to be easiest for working through the higher MP levels.

I use DH and have approx 138kdps - I am starting to farm for keys to do Hellfire ring and finding some success at MP3. I have read on forums that barb is probably best for higher MP levels - is this your experience too? Seem to remember reading an earlier post that you have used a Wizard at MP10?

I am starting to get a barb close to Level 60 to try it out but is there another class better for higher MP levels?

Thanks for any advice.

CM Wizard is probably easiest. Mine can do MP6-7 without dying quite mindlessly. I even had MP10 going at one point, but I tend to get overrun because of her DPS, but that could easily be fixed by spending some gold on her. I've probably spent about 500k, if that: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Craig-2196/hero/6305061

Well perhaps I was being a bit generous with one shot, but with good top end gear, MP6 does have the potential to be almost as fast as MP1, especially for barb.

With good gear in low MP, you are constantly fury starved, and cannot keep sprint/wrath up, which will add many minutes onto your run. Have no problems keeping both up at MP6. So while it takes a little longer per pack, the time saved between packs more than makes it up. Elites still die very quickly with SoJ, especially when they clump up in your tornados :)

For other classes, I can see MP1 being much faster, for sure, but barbs seem to be such cripples without fury..

Also, re:

A few hundred mil is nothing for people who have been playing this since release.

For most player a few hundred million is a lot regardless of when they started playing, plus like i said sooner or later on the gear curve upgrades cost billons not millons. This makes gearing up to godly levels impossible for most players, if you have managed it u really have been a lucky boy (or u used alternative methods whether legit or not)

The whole argument of mp efficency for all classes got put to bed along time ago, but if you think mp6 is the most efficent place for u to farm then fair enough

Also not everyone plays a ww build. I have full wotb uptime on mp0/1 and i use marathon

Mmmm, maybe. I made all my gold just buying 5-10m legendaries on the AH and reselling a day later for 15-25m. People really undervalue some set items.

I havnt played a cm wizard for afew patches but am i missing something? you dont have any life on hit or even life on kill and your dps is too low for life steal. How do you survive a windy day? you cant proc anywhere near enough with only 9% ias gear, especially since ww proc rate was reduced even more since 1.0.5? im not sure you were dying in mp10 because of low dps, more like lowish damage mitigation and low hp with no healing apart from some regen.

Have to say I find the Monk very effective at high MP levels.

For a monk to be effective at high mp levels you need hundreds of millions.Monk is probably the most expensive class (mostly because of double resists). You can achieve more with much less gold with all the other classes.I don't recommend starting a monk unless you have a lot of gold.

Monk is consistently ranked at the bottom of class tier lists.. they should be buffed soon.

It's just like playing a nerfed Barbarian.

I was dying in MP10 because of the slow killing. It's so slow I'd get impatient/lose concentration. MP6-7 is also very slow, but mindless as nothing can move to hit me and my shield absorbs enough damage to survive if anything does come through. IIRC she has 1000 or so life regen which is usually enough to keep going until the next hit comes through.

Trust me, she works. Not ideal, but I'm pleased with the build considering how much it cost. :)

Tried this again the other night and i was bored after a few minutes, which i hate because Diablo is awesome.

Ah well roll on Marvel heroes, proper Diablo team :p

Really annoyed tonight. I thought I would try and change a few of my skills to see if I could get more damage out of the same gear. I managed to get about 20k more damage but I just died instantly on Act3 for some reason. I put everything back to how it was but I am still dying within seconds. I have been running Act3 for a while now without thinking about it and not dying once. Every pack seems to kill me right now.

Anyone suggest any changes?

well for starters you havnt got battle rage into the fray on, if ur playing ww thats pretty much suicide ;)

Saying that im not sure about afew of you skill choices, are u trying to spec wirlwind?

See I put that on and my survival just dropped. I am looking at other barbs on the official forums at the moment and I have so much more life, armour and resistance then most but I cant work out how I am dying so fast.

Well the website has not updated yet but I have made a few changes and just killed about 6-7packs with no issues. Its almost the build I just had but was failing so badly with. Maybe I just had some really bad packs in a row and just wasnt concentrating.

Gear wise, any suggestions?

hmm ok. Gear wise id get much more critical hit chance
and increased attack speed and then lastly critical hit damage, then into the fray will work much much better. That will mean your dps should go up a lot, also swap ur mainhand for an axe or mace, imho its much more benefical then the fury bonus. Also get
max movement speed and swap wirlwind rune, it will work a lot better.

Also bloodthirty is a waste of passive, lifesteal doesnt work until you hit around 80k
dps, stick with LOH and regen until then.
