*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

few hours in and its the most amazing device ive ever owned, I really thought it might be a little too big but in reality its not that much bigger than my one x. Still not the biggest fan on touchwiz so will try some other launchers soon. Well worth the outlay just need to decide on some sort of case

That worked like a charm i have 8.35gb of space now on the internal card i only had 2gb before i moved those 2 folders to the external sd. Thanks for that.

You're welcome. I hate Google removing features like migrating apps to the sd card in jellybean.

Are you talking about the slider when you pull down the notification bar? Or just sliding your finger along the notification bar when you're on the home screen or browsing or whatever?

The first I know about, the second is what I'm talking about :).

If you're talking about the latter can you let me know where the setting is, as I went through all the options when I first got it and put them how I wanted, but I didn't see that option :( (you can apparently disable/enable the slider in the notification panel).

Holding the notification bar then dragging for brightness was canned along time ago. New method is now default.

New method is more accurate - old was slightly more convenient.

as a newbie note 2 owner all i do is swipe down and the brightness bar is there?

that's the new way - old way was never on the note2, only on the S2.

Yeah, that's the new way (they even changed it on the S2 :(). The old way I'm talking about you didn't have to pull the notification bar down, you just slid along the actual bar :).

Can't see the problem in that then?

I don't like it when they make things less convenient :p (and it either wastes space on the notification panel, or makes it takes a lot longer to change the brightness).

Yeah, it did on the S2 anyway. I used it for a while on that, and it's awesome just because of brightness slider and phablet mode (which would be even better on a note), but I just found the battery life to be worse than stock and it was fairly buggy on the S2, I imagine it's similar on the Note 2 :(.

Edit: I should add I'm not actually that bothered about the brightness slider (it's better than the S2, which didn't even have it in the panel), it was just a half jokey comment, that since I had to explain what it is and stuff has made it seem like I'm more bothered than I am :D.

Thanks for the home button tip! Never use S voice anyway.

When dragging the status bar down, has anyone else noticed that the widget things controlling WiFi toggle, Autorotate, etc scroll across from end to start meaning you can't click on any of them for about a second? Kinda bugs me. Only obvious solution I can see is to have no more than 5, but I want 8 :(

As Ive not seen the old way I cant really comment but seems pretty simple to me tbh, and if its not on the screen constantly its obviously better?

It wasn't something actually on the screen, visually it was just the notification bar how it looks now (only it was black, which was also better imo but seems fixable atleast), the only difference was that when you slid your finger along it it changed the brightness :).

What are the NON-obvious uses for the S-Pen btw? I noticed it displays where it's hovering over and in, for example, the notes app it will display "mouseovers" on the options, can this be enabled for browsers? (It may already be enabled in stock, I think I only tried it in Opera, which I'll be moving from anyway as flash is weird in it now, I know most people think Opera sucks compared to others anyway :p.)

Is there a way to make it so the when the S-Pen is removed it pops up with the search thing by default, like how you can have the mini note app pop up automatically?

Well parcel force let me down, it didn't get delivered yesterday....the driver returned to the depot with over 50 parcels because his shift was finished. They didn't put it on today as they could only take 30 extra on today's route...so I was one of the unlucky 20 customers....arrrgghhh peeved...

Well it's coming on Monday.
