Another new member to the club!

Just placed a deposit on a 2011 Octy vRS DSG. To say im excited is a bit of an understatement (think of a kid at christmas!) Has anyone else got/ tried the DSG?
I tested a manual and then a DSG. My old assumptions about auto box's have well and truely vanished, i couldn't believe how responsive they are.
 
:) I had to use about a foot long worth of extensions.

BTW, Im knocking up some more heat shields for the coil pack wiring if youre interested in the next few weeks.

Hi, Sorry to interrupt the thread but I'm interested in the heat wrap for the coil pack wiring as I have a similar type of engine. Is it still available?
 
Fitted the downpipe today with the help of a friend, not a particularly enjoyable job doing it on your back in the freezing cold!!

Need to get a sleeve to clamp over the join as I'm not 100% happy with an ordinary exhaust clamp.

Spools up quicker but not really given it beans as the roads are slippery. Sounds pretty cool though!
 
Powerflex red dogbone bush arrived today, bought it because my new Downpipe has already been repaired once due to a torn/split flexi, hoping this will stop it from happening in future :)

Will be having a go at fitting it on my next set of days off!

I also replaced my gearbox linkages as I broke one when doing the linkage reset, both came to less than £10 on eBay brand new :)

Need some advice on how to deal with a trader & his prices.

Been to look at at an 07 Octavia vRS today, which appears to run very well, regular servicing, Eagle F1 tyres, new brake disks etc. Only downside is there's 2 marks which appear to be limestone, which would be the only reason I can think of to haggle him down.

He's valuing the car at £7000 (mileage is ~60k). In my opinion, that is far off the mark, but he doesn't seem to think so. I personally would pay £6500 absolute tops with the paint work included on that. Parkers value it around £6500 I believe for a good condition trade.

Anyone got any advice on how I could make a case to bring the price down?
 
Fitting the Dogbone Bush this weekend.

Also made *the call* that i've been putting off for weeks and got my remap booked. Stage 2 "custom live" map with R-Tech.

Excited much :D
 
Figures can very car to car from what I've been told, hopefully somewhere around 220/230bhp, not really sure on torque. I'd have settled with Stage 1 but seeing as the most expensive item was already on the car (FMIC) it seemed a no-brainer to get the rest of the upgrades required for Stage 2.
 
New tyres fitted today. Fronts were Wanli and rears were Zeta. To be fair they never caught me off guard or let go, but the Wanlis sounded like a wheel bearing had gone.

Changed to 225/45/17 which is virtually the same rolling circumference as the 205/50/17 that came off. Went with Kuhmo KU39's.
