Tabletop Warhammer?

I need to get used to the original ones, I just normally play where we kill eachother and see who has the most points still left on the board.

Well for the tournament it is default mission table. So a D6 is rolled and you either play:

Seize ground - D3 + 2 objectives are placed, player holding most objectives wins (to hold you must have a troop squad within 3" and no enemy units within 3")

Take and Hold - As above but one objective in each deployment zone instead

Annihilation - Kill each other, most kill points wins (each unit is 1 kill point)

Then 3 different deployments (again a D6)

Normal - 12 inch deployment zone along each long edge
Spearhead - divide into quarters, player who wins dice role picks a quarter and the other player takes the opposite quarter
'The night fight one' (Can't remember the name!) - 1 HQ and 2 troops can be deployed in your half, other units come on from the table edge on the first turn. First turn has night fight rules in effect.

That's all a little bit simplified and a few things might be wrong (can't remember if it was 2+d3 or 3+d3 objectives!)

Any1 had chance to try out the maps I put on the dropbox if they work I am making a map for larger battles but wont start it unless i know it works

Yep, thanks again. I now have my head in the rule book. Is it best to use battlescribe for creating the army list then? easy to use? As you have seen, it needs to be dummy proof for me :D

It makes life a lot easier with calculations and warnings but I have found a couple of options that it doesn't make available despite them being in the Codex. It is really easy to use, though. :)

I think I've got my army prepared for the game on Sunday, with a few other options to try out before the deadline if I can get some more games in. I am dead excited to play again after so many years out of it, and doing it this way will also mean I don't end up buying any useless units unless I like the look of them (looking at you, Swooping Hawks...). :D

Haha. If only vassal was around 15yrs ago, the amount of money I could have saved is unthinkable :o

What sort of time is good for you on sunday? I'll probably be free from 5ish onwards

Edit: Got battle script working too :)
