*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Got an LTE version here myself, got a t-mob and a three contract so I'm going wait it out with three and use their free LTE on my one plan.

Does anybody know of any good car holders for it? I have a cheapo one that barely fits, looking to use it with a Tech21 case on it.

So psyched for this! Since my father and brother are also on three, I get an extra 1gb of data allowance for free :o

Not to mention the cheap as chips contract for texting and internet!

If I can get my N7105 rooted then I'll be set for the next 4 or so years :D

I hope taking that case on and off doesn't screw the bezel. It's extremely fragile coating. Literally every model I've seen has SOME bezel paint defect under the light. :p

Seems fine here, some dust but that's about it:

Looks good! I can tell if it's the lighting or if I can see some tiny bezel marks under bright light (would be from manufacturing, their process is flawed), but they are a non issue and it makes me feel better if you have them too. :D

I'm looking for a car dock with a USB passthrough. Can't seem to find one anywhere. I don't want to have to bother with plugging stuff in to the bottom of the thing if using a passive holder. I just want to drop it in the dock and have it charge and output it's audio via USB like I currently do with my iPhone 4S.

Do such things even exist?

I looked into this and apparently they don't :(
It's really the one downside of microUSB vs proprietary connectors - not enough flexibility. Still, I'm relatively happy with my current car setup - dock mounted in an air vent so don't have to worry about those stupid windscreen suckers failing, cables routed nicely into glovebox-mounted charger, and audio cable discreetly dangling from behind the steering wheel so always ready to plug in (but not noticeable otherwise).

And yeah, the Note III will be out late this year. Unless the IV is absolutely brilliant (rumoured 1080p screen for one, but will it be pentile? If so, eww) there isn't really much reason to sell your N2 for one.

The Note 2 is pentile, in case you didn't know.

They adjusted the subpixel layout so although still pentile, lines appear sharp instead of blurry. Besides, with higher PPIs it will cease to be an issue anyway.

The Note 2 has RGB subpixel's per pixel. It is not pentile.

It has a bigger blue sub pixel compared to the green and red - that is all.

And lol Tephnos - 441ppi Pentile is a non issue.

Yup, I don't get why everyone seems to think that the Note 2 is pentile , maybe because they no longer call it sAMOLED+ anymore?

As you say the only difference between "standard" RGB and RGB on the Note 2 is the bigger blue subpixel which, iirc, is because the blue one doesn't last as long so having it bigger means that they can extend the life of it by not having it as bright.

You are correct, I was mistaking it with the S3 (my point still stands, pentile is not what it used to be).

I posted mine off to the insurance on Tuesday, missing it already lol. Using a crappy HTC desire for now. Man it sucks.

Can't wait to get my Note 2 back and root it so I can have mass storage mode :)

I noticed on some adverts ive seen the lock screen kinda has this blood like fluid haze that you can swipe over, rather than clear water. I have the latest firmware, where do i get it?

Thanks Kona... Kona... don't you also own a Nexus 4! Sheesh dude. Haha. You're a very helpful chappy.

My concern is if this 64 microSD doesn't work on anything other than the stock rom (read in a review comment). If that's the case, I can just buy two 32's.
