*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Thanks Kona... Kona... don't you also own a Nexus 4! Sheesh dude. Haha. You're a very helpful chappy.

My concern is if this 64 microSD doesn't work on anything other than the stock rom (read in a review comment). If that's the case, I can just buy two 32's.

I had a Nexus 4 for a short while though sold it on. I have an S3 LTE. Always here to help :D.

Sorry read you question wrong. My S3 is on a custom rom and the 64GB card works fine, will be the same for the Note 2. I'm not sure on CM based ROM's but I suspect they work fine too. Ask in the S3 thread as there a few people in there running CM Roms.

How long is everyone's battery lasting?

After giving this a good 16 hour charge I gave it a thorough test for battery life... it only lasted 14 hours!

I was playing podcasts on the speaker, watching youtube videos, about 10 minutes of playing heavy graphics games, etc. It was barely turned off for that entire period... but I expected longer.

Is this normal?

What? You expected more? Under normal varied use around5hrs screen on is what I aim for :)

I had read in numerous locations to expect two days of usage, which didn't seem too far fetched considering it uses an OLED screen (if it's a true OLED that means ultra low consumption) and contains huge 3100mAh battery.

For instance, with all system sounds muted, haptic vibrations off, cellular data off... it's 60% with 6 hours of low/moderate use.

It just doesn't seem right, this site is a typical example of the battery life others seem to be experiencing.

It isn't a true "OLED" screen otherwise the price would be extremely high :p

SAMOLED will use more power than LCD when displaying bright colours i.e. white and use less power when displaying dark colours and with black it will use no power at all.

What is your signal like? That is one of the biggest drainers especially if you have poor signal.

Also how long was the screen on during those 14 hours? What brightness?

Hi guys, I need some assistance. I have enabled Chinese input on my Note II but am unable to get the hand writing option for it - only Pinyin..

Do I need to install something to get this to work??

Not to worry, looks like my battery is normal since I'm getting 5 hours screen time.

Same as my iPhone 4 so that's decent considering the hardware.

Were there any issues with using the Samsung Flip Cover? Something about scratching, dulling of screen or wear on the battery cover clips?

has this been posted a million times if so im sorry, but just goes to show the power of the beast.

Yup, many many times throughout the last year! :p

But yes, it is indeed very cool! Wouldn't be surprised if this replaces the majority of home desktop computers in a few years time.

This is why android phones are so awesome!

Just put this official ROM on N7100XXDMA6 N7100OXADMA5 with the NEAK 1.6 kernel.

It flies and battery is excellent.

I have finally ordered one of these phones! It should be arriving tomorrow. I need a case before I dare take it out the house. Can somebody please recommend me one. I am wanting a flip case so the screen is protected whilst it is in my pocket. Beyond the Samsung case, what else should I be looking at?
