This kind of thing makes my blood boil. I suppose it could have been worse if the entire bike was nicked.

Why can't you report it if you are pretty sure it's him and the police are familiar with him?

How are you guys insuring your bikes? I'm trying to see what's best, a specific bike insurance vs new home content insurance with additional bike cover (time to renew in April).

Have anyone got a good suggestion? Thanks.

I have my bikes on the house insurance, and all with tags from immobilise.com.

any goodies?

No, just the number card, timing chip etc. Shame really. I'm equal parts looking forward to and dreading climbing Mow Cop. I'm terrible at pacing myself so if I push too hard too early I might screw myself over for the big incline at the end.

So long as it's warmish at least my asthma shouldn't play up too much. I've got power in bucketloads but my problem's getting enough air in to make use of it...

I have done, but what can they do in 2 days, stuff will be gone by the time they have a warrant, then next week he'll have something different on a 2 day auction and the cycle continues, the guys scum and knows exactly how to play the police

Got my seatpost, saddle, stem, bars, levers and clip on mudguard robbed last night outside the pub

what a real pain in the ass, pub was really busy too and there was atleast 10-15 bikes also locked up that had nothing stolen

He will only post, refuses collection

****. I would be tempted to purchase something then open a claim to return it to get his address, then give that to the police.

Edit, this might be more useful:

They've already raided his house once, seized the goods, he got a warning but they couldn't get a conviction, so he just carried on

Still worth reporting, at least you might get your stuff back or be able to pursue in civil and reclaim the costs?

Who are you insured with? Does it cover out of house use, e.g. when bike is knicked when out on a ride, or is it hidden to oblivion that if bike is out of postcode area, it's not covered?

Sainsbury's Home insurance, and all of our bikes (6 in total) are covered across Europe.

Can't remember how much they cost in total but the most recent one (Ribble Gran Fondo worth about £2.2K now with additions I've made) added £6.50 to the annual premium - I did mention the immobilise tracking though so that may have made a difference.

Commuted for only the second time this year today and certainly felt it!

Hoping to do it more regularly now, the TT season starts at the end of April and I want to beat my time from last year.
